Great place. Menu has changed a bit. More versions of schnitzel now (the cordon bleu version is great!). New beet salad - also delicious. Some new desserts too (but Sacher torte is always a favorite) Very comfortable outdoor patio.

The BEST sausages & Weiner Schnitzel in California, great sauces! Pizza dough is incredible and huge amount of cheese on top. My family and I LOVE LUSTIG and will be back😍🤗😋❣️

Ever since I read about Lustig several weeks ago and looked at the creative, whimsical menu, I just *knew* I had to dine there. As a Hungarian raised on hearty Eastern European fare I know a great schnitzel and spaetzel when I taste it. The challenge of finding the quality and familiar flavors of both these cuisines in America has often resulted in a disappointing meal. I had a feeling that Lustig was going to break the spell. I was not wrong. With Chef Bernhard at the Helm(s) (I'll see myself out) of Lustig I didn't think twice about ordering more than enough food because the well-thought-out combinations of seemingly disparate flavors are cheeky and taunting. I had no choice but to surrender to the intrigue. We began with the chicken liver mousse profiteroles with dark chocolate and pate de fruit. This beautiful assemblage (topped with a thin chocolate hat) is filled with the creamiest chicken liver mousse ever made. This is not grandma's chopped liver. Eaten in one bite, my mouth was immediately tricked into wanting to move to Austria (or just into the kitchen) to unlock the secret of this sorcery. The pate bite at the end is a perfect palate cleanser. The scent of curry fries wafting from the kitchen made them too irresistible to ignore. A generous portion served with a light dusting of the most fragrant curry and curry aioli sauce for dipping made my martini very happy. Next up, authentic (and delicious) Debreziner sausage served with freshly grated horseradish and Dijon mustard reminded me of my childhood. Raclette Cheese Pizza? Oh, yes! The smart spelt/sourdough crust supported this flavorful cheese sprinkled with pickled vegetables, radicchio, and potato confit. Exquisite. We finished our feast with a divine and perfectly prepared wiener schnitzel. Served with a bright lingonberry-yuzu lingonberry sauce and lemon, I went to heaven. Stellar service (Kevin at the bar), with a warm, inviting, modern vibe, Lustig is aptly named. You will lust for more.

We loved our experience at Lustig...especially the food which was delicious. The wine was really good too but note that their "glass" of wine is a very small pour for a not small price! You may be better off getting the bottle! No matter, we had a great time and will go back!

Bernard is a highly skilled and imaginative chef who executes playful and delectable turns on classic Viennese dishes. The restaurant itself is handsome and modern. Polished but friendly staff. And with its high ceilings and barely audible music, one can eat and actual carry on a conversation at the same time, a rare experience in a city with so many deafening restaurants.

This was our first time dining at Lustig. Everything we ordered was carefully and elegantly prepared and deeply flavorful, with an authentic Austrian touch. All of the wait staff were friendly and professional, especially our server, Michael. We'll be back!

We really enjoyed our mid-day visit to Lustig. As with most things the price is on the higher end side but the location (which is the Helm's Bakery area) and overall quality is comparable to similar level restaurants. I would recommend folks giving it a try.

High end bistro experience, attractive bright environment, friendly responsive service. Loved the hamachi and tuna canoli, the Cesar salad is unusual creative and delicious, pairs beautifully with a chicken schnitzel. Char was perfectly cooked but super simple. The black forest cake desert was one of the best desserts I have ever eaten. Go try Lustig!!!!
