We had the most delicious dinner last night with a delightful waiter who was good humoured and knowledgeable about the menu. Only very small gripe was the food came out almost too quickly and we had finished 3 courses and coffee by 9.30pm on a Saturday night. First world problems I know and will def be back- thank you!

On arrival we were given a table on the third floor in what you could class as a narrow walkway to the toilets and where the staff bring food to the other tables. We were not happy with this location so asked to be moved. Our waitress brought over an assistant manager Zorinitsa who appeared to be flustered by the request but did move us to a better table. She obviously did not like the way we had requested the table move as she was heard behind the scenes that my wife and I were really rude. In our opinion we were direct but never “rude.” We were then told that on the sweet menu the Sticky Toffee Pudding was not available which to say this is the most popular pudding and a Friday this was surprising. Anyway we had a better table so carried on and were asked about drinks. Their menu states they have a variety of ciders and to ask what is available. Ciders is a plural but we were told only one “Aspall” was available. We ordered one and a beer. The waitress came back saying they had run out of the cider. Things were not going well and we really felt for our waitress Sam who was given the job of passing on bad news. We ordered a different drink and food and from that moment on your waitress Sam excelled and turned around our dining experience. The food we ordered was really good, came out timely and lived up to the reputation of this restaurant. We were really though disappointed that your manager on the top floor did not come back to us to see if we were happy with the new table and also to apologise for their lack of both a pudding and drink. A big up for Sam and a big down for your manager.

Stand out service from all of the staff. Food was good and menu choices varied. Set menu reflected value for money.

Service was excellent the waitress was very careful about the Ingredients for my gluten free friend and made sure we were finished in time for out event at the Cathedral

It is normally lovely at Lussmans but this time not up to its usual standard. I complained about the cold soup, they tried to re-heat it but it was still cold in parts but hot on the other side of the bowl. The waitress very kindly took it off the bill without me asking which was a very kind touch.

Lovely food, laid back atmosphere, fast service, good value. The portions were moderate but exactly enough to satisy. The Bramley Apple Cheesecake is probably the best cheesecake I've ever tasted!
