I was so excited to try this restaurant because of all the positive comments that I’ve heard since moving to Aurora. I do like to stay away from chains and would rather support the hard working family run establishments. I know a lot goes in to running a business like this and their hard work was obvious from the moment I arrived. I was greeting with a friendly smile and hello from across the room by Melanie, who I later learnt was one of the owners. She brought us to a perfectly set table and immediately offered us some water and wine. They have the most delicious Cabernet called Cedar Rock from California. The atmosphere was set perfectly with candles and soft music in the background, which I love as I don’t like shouting at my guest while dining. Our meal, which consisted of Bruschetta to start followed by a Rack of Lamb with deliciously roasted potatoes and Sea Bass was made with love, care and attention to detail. The service was perfect and Melanie kept coming by to top up our waters and chat about different local events in Aurora/Newmarket. We didn’t save any room for dessert this time but are looking forward to our next visit so we can tuck into the classic tiramisu

I was so excited to try Luna because I have heard such amazing things about the restaurant. Upon entering the restaurant, the ambiance is lacking significantly. The restaurant itself is quite dark, and there are no candles or nice dim lights that are warm and welcoming. There’s also no music playing so when the restaurant is full, all you hear is noise. It took about 20-30 minutes just for our order to be taken. When I asked a server if we could please order, she said I’m a hostess but your server will be with you soon. This was 25 minutes into the meal. This same server also mentioned that sorry it’s so busy, thanks for your patience but everyone came at once this evening.. I mean it is Friday night at dinner time, and we had a reservation like most people there, so I’m not sure how it’s a surprise it’s busy unless they were understaffed this evening. The service was terrible the rest of the evening, we were still visibly working on our appetizer when the server wanted to take it away. Server rarely came by our table and never refilled our water. Only towards the end of the evening another server came to check on us more, but at that point it was the end of the meal. I had noted on the reservation we were celebrating a birthday but it wasn’t even acknowledged. Food itself was excellent, all the dishes were so delicious but the service was just terrible. Overall disappointing experience since I had heard such rave reviews, won’t be returning.

We are fans of Luna ristorante for years. This family owned restaurant always dedicated to their clients and open to any of our feedback. The food is made with love and high end ingredients. The ambiance is always lovely. I will definitely return again and again as there are not many places like that in York region.

Everything we ordered tasted amazing. The service was very attentive and friendly without being overbearing. The decor is nice and well-kept. The pasta serving size was a little small for the price, but everything else was fantastic! I recommend Luna.

Fantastic experience! The food is incredible. The portions are perfect. Staff is knowledgeable, kind and they intuit the exact amount of interaction you are looking for. I love that they don't have preset options programmed for the tip on the machine. You can tell they thought through everything. Class act all around! Highly recommend!

Amazing place for any occasion. Food is outstanding and the owners were there to make sure that you leave the restaurant happy ! Pizza and appetizers were to die for. Will definitely come back.

Best Italian food we have had in a really long time. Every dish we ordered was delicious. Great place to celebrate a special occasion. Definitely going back.
