We’ve eaten here several times, twice when they were completely booked. Luckily we had reservations. When they are that booked the kitchen is a little slow but we munched on bread and appetizers. They care greatly about my food allergies so I feel completely safe eating here. A table overlooking the water. It was just what we wanted.

Out of the sides described on menu, fish had bad taste, Caesar salad soggy, waitress apologetic.

We had a table overlooking the pool and harbor entrance. It was a great view. We saw 3 cruise ships leave the harbor, sailboats coming in and planes leaving Charlotte Amalie. Dinner was just what we wanted. A hummus, pita and vegetables platter to start and then salads and a garden pizza.

I wasn't able to eat at Luna Mar so I can't exactly provide a good review. Our reservation was for 930 but when we showed up we were told the kitchen was closing at that moment and we could only drink. Why on earth would a place open until 11pm close the kitchen so early? And why would you bother letting folks make a reservation? By the time we were told we could eat no food, it was too late to go anywhere else on the island and even grocery stores were closed. We ate literally nothing that evening, our last evening on our vacation, thanks to something that could be solved by stopping reservations at 9 or adding a simple note to the website that says the kitchen hours. Worst part is, it's on the side of the night kayak excursion which ends at 9pm, so many of us were left out of luck.

We were seated at a table overlooking the ocean, and the sunset view would have been spectacular had it not been cloudy (obviously not faulting the restaurant for that). The cocktails and dessert were very good. My lemon chicken entree was okay, but my husband really enjoyed his bolognese entree. The service was inattentive. Our server was pleasant enough, but never checked on us during our meal.

The food that came was lovely, but it was slow to come, and the appetizer never came at all. The atmosphere is beautiful as you dine looking over the ocean. The staff is very pleasant. Overall, a lovely place to dine.

My wife ordered the grouper fish and was violently ill all night and still sick 2 days later. They are not using fresh fish.
