Cheltenham’s newest MICHELIN Star - Lumiere is an elegant, ingredient-led, innovative, fine dining experience in the heart of Cheltenham. Lead by husband and wife team, Somerset born Chef Jon and general manager Helen, the restaurant has a focus on the best British produce sourced from a network of dedicated farmers, fishermen, producers & our own family run farm.
Since opening in January 2009, Lumiere has received numerous local and national awards including a MICHELIN Star, AA Restaurant of the Year for England, 3AA Rosettes and is regularly listed amongst the Top 20 Restaurants in the UK by Hardens and Tripadvisor. Jon was also shortlisted for Restauranteur of the Year by The Caterer for all of his efforts during the pandemic.

Formidable dîner (formule avec 8 plats) avec un service attentif et très efficace. Les explications quand à l’origine des produits sont précises et concises. Ambiance feutrée, agréable, sans bruit parasite. Jolies surprises sur une carte des vins aux tarifs plutôt doux. La qualité de la cuisine, pleine de finesse et de justesse, fait la part belle aux produits du jardin, et l’attention du personnel participe a vous faire passer un excellent moment.

Exquisite dining experience. When you eat at somewhere like Lumiere you expect the quality of the food and drink to be top notch - which it was. But what really stood out for me was the sincere friendliness of those running the restaurant. They were all really lovely, and that with the amazing food makes me think that I want to come back again.

This was our highlight of our August bank holiday weekend trip. My partner chose the vegetarian taster while I had the ominvore. Service was very welcoming and friendly. The food and wine pairings were on another level; my highlights were the Japanese white wine; Lebanese rose; food wise - duck bonbon covered in white chocolate -sounds a crazy combination but works so well. The other was the chefs take on a tequila slammer; wow. You have to try it yourself to truly appreciate them.

Visited for the first time for lunch on Saturday. The whole experience was amazing. Food was exquisite, service and setting were welcoming and relaxed but seamless. We were completely overwhelmed and loved every minute.

This superb restaurant never fails to impress. The food is sensational (true alchemy at its best), the venue is intimate and relaxing and the service/staff are friendly, timely and informative. You will not find a better dining experience than this. So just book it and indulge yourself. You deserve it.

We had lunch at Lumiere and it really was an excellent dining experience. To create such a wonderful selection of dishes all with a range of delicate flavours and textures is testament to the creativity and exceptional skills of Jon and his staff. The fantastic food is matched by the excellent front of house staff, Helen and her colleagues provide the most relaxed atmosphere for enjoying your meal. They are very knowledgeable, efficient and professional without being in any way pretentious and the whole dining experience runs smoothly from start to finish. The electronic tablets all diners are given that provide background information about all the ingredients, suppliers, wines, etc. is a great idea. Thank you to Jon and Helen and all your staff!

What a great experience we had there. A lovely intimate venue with nice atmosphere. Friendly, knowledgable front of house backed up by a delicious menu. Struggling to choose a favourite dish, but the squid ink canope we could have had a plate of and the duck dish was outstanding. Definitely worth a visit! 👌🏻
