Lulu Bar is an escape from the ordinary. Its welcoming vibe is reminiscent of hidden gems from your last vacation, only better because it’s right here in your own backyard. With a healthy, Pacific-inspired menu, Lulu’s wood-fired food is light and fresh — but heavy on flavour.
Chef Joseph Sokoloff’s fare is a tribute to the Pacific Ocean and many of the regions that touch it, with influences from Asia to Hawaii, California to British Columbia. Lulu’s fun, light, and refreshing drink menu is equally well-travelled. Its wine, beer, and creative cocktail offerings will make you feel like you’re far from home — and we like that.

Highlights were the cucumber salad, crispy potatoes, branzino, and lamb. Good wine list with reasonable prices. Service was very friendly but somewhat slow due to the place being busy.

I made a reservation for 2 at Lulu but upon arrival they didnt seem ready for us, the host and her manager were struggling with where to put us. Finally they decide to "tuck us away" upstairs. I was disappointed by this as there were several better tables downstairs sitting empty. We asked to be moved so we didnt have to sit upstairs all alone and they were able to place us at a much better table by the bar. This left a really sour first impression on us as we should have received a better experience. Why book ahead if theyre going to stick you at the worst table they have? Aside from that, their happy hour is a great deal and we enjoyed some good cocktails and food. I did find that the cocktail was mostly ice so I'm glad I wasn't paying full price for it. The chips and dip were fantastic, I would definitely order those again

Food was exceptional. Had the duck, Brussels sprouts, and a few starters and it was all great. What was not great was service. Drinks were ordered and did not arrive until AFTER we got our starter food. Then when asked if we wanted another drink we indicated we would want another with dinner. Again, we had received our drinks at the tail end of our meal. We had another reservation elsewhere after dinner and I had to drain a $17 cocktail in about 10 minutes- which was not ideal. No one checked on us to make sure our food was correct or if we needed anything else. If they had, I would have indicated to not put in another cocktail order and just bring me a beer instead since that would probably be faster. On the whole- food is great. Service was abysmal. It was as though there was no rhyme or reason for when they show up to your table and how much consideration is given to your experience. Logic would dictate that if your table would prefer their drinks with their food, then if they already have their food- maybe confirm if they still want to wait another 30 minutes for a cocktail order or if they’d like something else. Service was a let down to the fantastic work being done in the kitchen.

An incredible experience all around! I highly recommend pre-ordering one of the multicourse set menus. We chose the $60 one, and it was a very wide variety of food, and absolutely plenty for three couples, six people total. Service is top-notch and they take food allergies very seriously. We love you Lulu!

Staff was very accommodating of dietary restrictions. A dairy free menu was available and our server was very helpful explaining the modifications. Food is always delicious and it’s a wonderful space and atmosphere.

Great happy hour drink specials. Amazing food with. Road selection. Enjoyed the coconut squid and edamame appetizer share plates.

We both ordered different fish but they both were served and were very watery. Terrible in fact. Given that I booked because it made it into Canada‘s top hundred restaurants, I was more than just disappointed. I won’t be going back. I wouldn’t put it in Calgary’s top 20.

The food was top-notch, our server Michael was great. My girlfriend also really enjoyed her Nine Lives cocktail and Baked Hula dessert. We will return and recommend Lula Bar to family and friends.
