    We've been here plenty of times and its always been a great experience however not sure what happened yesterday but the service was terrible from the moment we walked in and were told we were in the way and could we move, asking the wrong person for another drink, plate being cleared while still eating, not offered deserts and incorrect bill. Disappointing and the points were raised when I paid the bill. I will alway pay gratuities but not this time. Please get back to your normal standards. The food and ambiance are always great shame about the service.

    This is a superb restaurant, I dined here on a previous visit to York and took a party of friends on a recent visit who hadn’t experienced Lucia’s, they were all extremely impressed.

    Loved the restaurant we were sat outside , only thing I didn’t like was my meal seafood pasta was swimming in butter/ grease , I felt it was expensive what we had .

    Excellent restaurant, food was 10/10 , staff and service 10/10 , sat at the bar and chilled for over an hour before we sat down to eat, would definitely go back

    We went as a group of 9 (we showed up with an extra person and they were very happy to find another seat to add to the table) for my birthday meal and all the staff were so friendly and service was great! Food was lush - highly recommend eating here (and get the truffle and parmesan chips!

    We visited Lucias for my birthday and was extremely disappointed! The welcome on arrival and birthday was lovely, the area in which we were setted was pleasant and the cocktail was lovely. We ordered all our food from the vegan menu, im not sure if that's where the problem laid. The starters were okay, edible, good sized portions and lovely presentation. We did order a side to come with the starters but this didnt arrive until after the starter when i mentioned this as she collected our plates. I wish they hadn't bothered to being them as they were soggy, tasted strongly of brine and were inedible. When the mains came i was surprised at the portions, very generous sizes! The gnocchi was over cooked to the point of getting mushy, there was a lack of flavour and alot of the food got left. I had the tortellini, this was also overcooked to the point that the filling was coming out of the tortellini. When picked up the soggy bottoms spilled all over the plate. I have to say the chef is very talented at making a mess of food as the top of the pasta parcels were hard and dry. I assume this was a case of overcooking pasta then leaving it under a headlamp or similar. The pasta and filling were just a warm mess with no flavour, the sauce was also bland. We got a pizza to share with our pasta, the pizza was the saving grace, it was wonderful and cooked perfectly. When we informed the waitress of the food being disappointing she was very rude, accusing the pasta been overcooked as just been not to our taste. When it was quite obviously over cooked. Between the 2 courses we were left without fresh cutlery for around 10 minutes which left the food going cold. We left without dessert. I don't know if it was just a bad night, but gosh it was one of the worse dining experiences I've had and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, which is such a shame as I used to enjoy their food just a few years ago.
