Lucia York is an all-day restaurant and cocktail bar serving a modern Italian menu feat. homemade pasta, gelato, pizza, pesce & carne dishes seven days a week.

Located in the heart of York minutes away from York Minster and The Shambles, this stylish restaurant boasts elegant interiors and an attractive heated outdoor courtyard.

Lucia's patisserie is open from 9am every day. The main restaurant opens from 12pm.

Beautiful food relaxing surroundings and wonderful service from Mia. It was my wife’s birthday and it was certainly well worth the visit. Would highly recommend Lucia’s (not cheap but then you get what you pay for) 5 star 😃

Booked this restaurant to try the Sunday lunch. Unfortunately when we arrived for our booking at 3pm we were informed that there was no more Sunday lunch available with not much explanation why. This was very disappointing as it’s advertised from 12-6pm on the website. We chose different options from the menu which were nice enough but felt let down that the whole reason we booked this place was not available only a couple of hours into the service. Should state that the Sunday lunch is subject to availability. Don’t usually write bad reviews but would not return or recommend due to the false advertising of the Sunday lunch options.

Booked a week in advance for a specific time 2 pm and gave our order, bottomless Sunday lunch for our anniversary. £40 taxi to York only to be told " oh were sorry we don't have any Sunday lunch left. Absolutely disgusted. No call no email no nothing. Disgusted and costly for nothing. It was 2pm not 7pm for Sunday lunch. Keep away from this restaurant at all costs

We had booked Lucia specifically for the sharing Sunday Lunch that is advertised as being served between Midday and 6Pm. Our booking was for 2pm so only 2 hours into the service, It took 45 minutes for us to be approached for our food order, by which time the Sunday lunches had sold out. We revisited the menu and what food we ordered was lovely however it didn't detract from our disappointment having travelled up from Barnsley specifically for the Sunday Lunch. A couple opposite had done the same and they walked out when told the Sunday Lunch had sold out. If you want to guarantee getting the Sunday Lunch book an earlier timeslot but seriously all gone 2 hours into a 6 hour service.

venue is lovely and they've really turned this place into somewhere special. the outside area is stunning with outside patio heaters and cover - i wish we had booked this space. As we were taken to their sister room next door which really doesn't have the same ambiance and feel. unfortunately our food was not the best, we ordered the pinwheel starter which i thought was undercooked, but we ate it as we were hungry by this point. our main courses arrived, two pizzas, neither of us finished both of them. I had the steak special pizza but this was so disappointing. would come again, but i would want to be sat in the main restaurant or outside under the heaters, I'd also order something that was not a pizza instead.

We pre-booked our table for a special occasion. With no warning, after our mains plates were cleared we were told they needed our table back and we had to move to the bar if we wanted to stay. When I expressed my disappointment that we were being moved on when we hadn't had dessert or finished our drinks whilst surrounding tables had been there longer the server explained that different size groups had different time limits and they needed the table for someone else. This ruined what had been a lovely night, the food and atmosphere were great. Very poor customer service and I would advise caution to anyone wanting to book for a special occasion rather than a quick meal. We will not be returning.

Beautiful setting, really attentive staff. Music was not fitting for the restaurant we feel it needed to be more calming and tranquil. The starters were amazing. We feel that the price of the mains were reflected by the taste or portion size. I person had a steak that looked lost of the plate. The chicken skewer was not very flavoursome with 2 small pieces panchetta. We paid the service charge but feel it should be down to the party as to how much is paid. Overall we enjoyed the experience but would have to think if we would return.

I had high expectations for this Italian restaurant based on my Airbnb host's recommendation. Unfortunately, my experience fell short. The service was below average, with slow response times and poor hospitality from the receptionist. I was even asked to carry my own menu to the table, which was quite surprising. The food quality was disappointing as well. My pulled beef risotto was lukewarm, and when I requested a water refill, it took over half an hour for it to arrive, despite several staff members passing by. I was also confused about the bread situation. They merely asked if we wanted it served before our meal, which led me to believe it was complimentary. Instead, I was charged £7, and they even asked to take the basket away while we still had some bread left. Additionally, I was not informed about the limited dining time, so when I was presented with the bill and told I had only 15 minutes left, I was quite displeased. Overall, I won't be returning to this restaurant again.

Absolutely beautiful lunch for my daughter’s 30th birthday. Could not fault what we had at all. The restaurant is very beautiful. When we were given the dessert menu we decided not to have one. We were immediately given the bill and told the table was needed….. we still had half a bottle of Prosecco left and felt pressured to leave. What if we’d had dessert? We would’ve still been sat at the table to eat. We moved upstairs to the bar area to finish the Prosecco.

As someone who regularly visits Lucia we love the food and ambience of the restaurant, but on our most recent visit we where let down by the service. We ordered our drinks, starters and mains which were done with the hour, but after 40 mins in we started getting hassle approximately every five minutes re requests or more drinks, desserts and were reminded on at least three occasions that the table needed to be returned in half an hour. We raised this with the service and management. This made our experience uncomfortable and we both felt rushed, bearing in mind we were aware the table booking was only for 1 and 1/2 hours. I appreciate that this is a pleasant place, however after today and lots of other wonderful restaurants locally, I won’t be in a rush to return.
