Sitting next to table of loud talkers. Very unpleasant experience. It was a birthday for my spouse.

Lucca is my neighborhood fine restaurant. I have been eating here for as long as the restaurant has been open. This time I was disappointed that the ownership has made some changes I have come to expect from more poorly managed restaurants. The food was expected, both in price and quality. On the other hand the wine offerings and prices, which has historically been moderate, were as expensive as I have seen in the metro area/ This was despite the selecttions being limited and middle of the road vintages and brands. The other issue was the small percentage charged for health insurance. I expect the businesses I patronize to pay their employees well and provide them with health insurance. If the business needs to add on a goofy charge rather than just charging a fair price both annoys and signals to me, they have crossed over from neighborly well managed restaurant to one run by MBA's or Private Equity 'experts'. Very sad, won't be back.

Ethan, I think you make a perfectly good point about the "goofy charge", but we're not as well-credentialed as you give us credit for. We're just hard-working regular folks trying to honor a great neighborhood and run a great restaurant. We hope you'll reconsider!

Good service and excellent pasta dishes. Unfortunately we spent $91.00 for three pasta dishes and one drink (soda not alcohol) . That is outrageous !! Especially for pasta and they add a fee for health benefits as well so how did pasta get so expensive? Due to the costs we will not be able to return.

Stephanie, thank you for taking the time to reach out to us! While our menu certainly does change through the seasons, the classic Tagliatelle Bolognese, and Spaghetti Pomodoro at $21/each are always on the menu, and the current Rye Pappardelle with pork cheek sugo braised in Sangiovese, with wood-fired carrots, spiced gremolata, and pecorino is $28. You may also order a simple Spaghetti Marinara for $14. Among other things, we also offer a Wood-fired Margherita Pizza for just $10 during Happy Hour every day from 4-5pm. Despite the rising costs of many ingredients, we've actually been able to keep our prices fairly stable through this period and we will always strive to deliver maximum value to you and all of our guests.

Lucca has it all.....what a wonderful place to dine. A glass of wine, a pint of beer, an extraordinary appetizer, a margherita pizza, and the risotto entree.....a hundred bucks, including a 15+% tip. Everything was excellent. My date described the wine she wanted and our waiter suggested an excellent option. The only detractor was the noise reverberation....which I'm probably overly sensitive to, but it's not quiet enough for me. That said, I highly recommend it!

Regularly considered among the top Italian restaurants in Portland. The food, the decor, and the service reach high marks on every visit. Reservations recommended as it is a popular place. It fits the bill for anything from family dinner to anniversary. They have been doing it right for a long time.

Even if Lucca weren't in my neighborhood, I'd say it is one of Portland's best. Creative menu, comfortable dining atmosphere. Kid-friendly without losing the overall relaxed vibe of the place.

Lucca is one of our favorite restaurants. They didn't disappoint us on Saturday evening. Their dining month menu is outstanding! Also, they took care to seat parties at least one table apart from each other (more than 6 feet), in case folks are concerned.

We have been to Lucca several times and always for special occasions. The food is always consistently wonderful. Everyone truly enjoyed their entrees. This is our special place, so we will eat there again.

We went for Portland Dining Month and the menu was wonderful. And restaurant did a great job of seating people loosely to support social distancing recommendations.
