Lucca Osteria & Bar is the vision of chef and veteran restaurateur, Claudio Ulivieri and his partner Steven Hartenstein. Raised near the Italian city of Lucca, Claudio’s passion for food began. He brought this passion to the States, and started his culinary career as a chef. Now, after decades of creating menus and running restaurants, he and his partner have opened Lucca Osteria - tapping into his roots - to share his favorite rustic Italian flavors with you. Come join us Monday Sept 30th for our last Bourbon & Cigar Dinner of the Season. We will be featuring a five-course chef prepared dinner, which will include four Angel's Envy crafted cocktails and a neat pour a keepsake glass to take home and three Premium Cigars hand selected by Arlington Pipe and Cigars. We will have live music and giveaways, and we'll be selling custom engraved bottles of your favorite Angel's Envy Bourbon. This will be an event you won't want to miss! Tickets, as usual will sell out so reserve today! You will have 72 hours to cancel, anything less will be subject to 50% of ticket cost.

We have booked early outdoor dining twice and it is unbeatable. Fun cocktails, delicious fettuccine prepared at the table and bone-in strip steak top of the line. Nice wine list. Can't wait to go back.

Last-minute, late Sunday afternoon, probably shift-change. Yet, service was spot-on and food delicious. Pappardelle Bolognese - al dente and meat sauce like nonna was still in the kitchen! Grilled lamb chops cooked to a perfect med-rare, with a subtle, but great, mint chimichurri. We've dined here when the rooms were full and diners lined up and waiting for their reservations, and times like this Sunday when they were not. Food has always been delicious and service of the best!

We've traveled throughout the US and other parts of the World and have always considered Chicago a food city. Lucca is representative of that reputation. We dined there twice while in Oak Brook for our daughter's baby shower and again to spend time with the grand baby. We were not disappointed on either visit. We are friends with a family in another city that owns five star Italian restaurants and are very picky about Italian food. Lucca met our hopes. After a day of travel coming from southern Florida we were starving. We devoured the fresh bread with olive oil and parmigiana. We then ordered the burrata appetizer both times which was delicious. On the first visit I had an order of the veal cutlets which were perfectly cooked and presented. Many restaurants overcook the veal. We had an order of the fettuccine on both visits which was prepared table side and was great. We didn't finish that dish and took some back to the nearby Marriott which was also very pleasant. All in all two good trips. We’ll be back.

Disappointing. We were excited to try this restaurant but found it fell well short of expectations. We sat in the bar area, which had nice atmosphere. Service was poor - for example, I had to flag down my waiter after being seated for 15 minutes to order my cocktail. He also forgot to bring my wife’s drink and we had to re-order. Worse, the waiter had terrible timing, interrupting our conversations, almost always at the wrong time. For the price of the food, we really expected more. I had veal francese at the recommendation of the waiter - I found it bland/dry - I would recommend adding shaved Romano or a little bit of dressing to the arugula. Chilean sea bass was good, to be fair.

Outdoor patio was fabulous! White tablecloths, flowers, great crusty bread and everyone’s entre was delicious.

Service was not good. Food was just ok. Our waitress didn’t come around often enough and was almost rushing us to leave. She was inquiring if we wanted dessert while we were half way through our food, and when it was time for dessert, she didn’t bring it out. We had asked for a dessert as we were celebrating a birthday and it never came. When I reminded the waitress she said she wasn’t told. They blamed it on a system error although we reminded the hostess upon arriving. A shot of limoncello was offered while we were walking out when the person we were celebrating doesn’t drink. Had higher expectations for this place.
