Lucca Osteria & Bar is the vision of chef and veteran restaurateur, Claudio Ulivieri and his partner Steven Hartenstein. Raised near the Italian city of Lucca, Claudio’s passion for food began. He brought this passion to the States, and started his culinary career as a chef. Now, after decades of creating menus and running restaurants, he and his partner have opened Lucca Osteria - tapping into his roots - to share his favorite rustic Italian flavors with you. Have been here before. It’s not the same and going backward. Our waiter was excellent. Food wasn’t as good as we remembered. Way too many tables jammed into some spaces. A woman sitting at table next to us was more a part of our party than her own the way she jammed into the space. Big thing though was prices. Tre Dita prices on pasta that was not near the same quality. It was fine, may return, but not likely soon.

Food & service was excellent. Dario is an excellent waiter. Appreciate the great mocktail list and GF options!! Ambiance was very bright for a Valentine’s dinner.

The food here was on another level. Outstanding quality and flavor, and the overall ambiance was definitely luxurious to say the least. The seating arrangement however, was less than ideal as we shared a booth with about a 4 foot distance between tables to our left and right, making the experience feel not quite interpersonal, and took away from the romantic atmosphere I was looking for. Our server was also very nice, but with it being a busy night, there were a few requests that were forgotten or prolonged, but I looked past this due to the overall experience of the food and ambiance. I would definitely dine here again, but I do not know if I would do so for Valentine’s Day.

The food was great! The atmosphere was less than desirable for a romantic valentines dinner. We were seated in the bar area at a very small 2 top table, completely surrounded by all other bar guest. The service was not the best, as they never took time to explain there menu or specials, we had to ask for bread and then for oil & vinegar, when the food came they never asked if we need anything else. So we had to wait until our server came back to ask for things like Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper and even another drink. Once the manager or owner came to the table, the attention to detail seemed to change. This is definitely a high end bar, with great food and a lively atmosphere, but not for a romantic date in my opinion. It’s more of a high end after work bar to take customers to, which I would recommend. Party of 2, with four drinks was $270.

I was clear that this was a valentines celebration and we got the darkest, dingiest table in the whole restaurant all the way in the back of the bar. Three of us came together and the rest of the girls were on their way. We were told we would only be seated when the whole party would be there UNTIL one of the girls who’s well known to the restaurant came together join us, then we were seated right away even though the whole party hadn’t arrived! I don’t appreciate the favoritism and double standards. This is a neighborhood restaurant, not some high end restaurant where there should be this many stipulations!

As always, our experience at Lucca's last evening was amazing. The food was absolutely delizioso, and the ambience was wonderful. What really set the evening apart, though, was the service. Our server (I believe his name was Luis) was next-level. He was quietly attentive, yet engaged with us in a couple of brief conversations that brought smiles to our table. His knowledge of the menu was great. I would request sitting at one of his tables next time.
