Behind an unmarked door adjacent to the wine room, guests are transported to District 1 (China Town) in Saigon via Blackhouse’s 28-seat restaurant-within-a-restaurant, LSXO. A spinoff of the Little Sister brand (Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach & Downtown Los Angeles), LSXO is love letter to the culture, heritage, and lineage of Vietnam (Vuong’s relatives hail from the region). While Little Sister is known for its French Vietnamese menu, LSXO follows the same Southeast Asian inspiration with a more refined feel.

“There is no signage for LSXO—you can spot the entrance of it tucked into a section inside Bluegold, but you’ll have to know it’s there. While Bluegold is light, bright, and airy, LSXO is its darker, edgier little sister,” says Vuong. “Both restaurants operate out of the same kitchen, though the menus are completely different. LSXO offers straight-up, honest, home-style Vietnamese cuisine—the type of food I grew up eating with my grandparents in the San Gabriel Valley

Excellent experience. Not a place for children or most younger people, nor groups larger than six. Although a very contemporary atmosphere, conversations were appropriate to the very intimate space. Ask for the wine list. Don't be afraid to experiment with the menu... all of it is excellent. Rice dishes are large enough to share with three or four people.

They were FAbULOUS. 2 LEGIT to quit. Just let chef pick your menu items. Fried prawns were delicious! Shaky shaky steak was good! And the dumplings were the best! Thank you Jasmin!

My husband and I had a reservation for lunch on Sunday. Services were impeccable. The ambience seemed to be relaxing. Nice view of the ocean since the restaurant is right across the street from the beach. The sun was right into the table where we were seated, had to switch chairs a few times to get a better view. Not sure of our menu selections but most of our dishes came out with chicharrons on top and plenty of little Thai chili and pork belly inside. The tastes are on the salty side and tasted very rich from the pork fat and butter. It was more like a Vietnamese fusion cuisine with a lot of Western twists. Food presentations were inviting. Finding the place and parking was a bit challenging for seniors like us.

holy flavor bombs batman. dishes and service were stellar. will be coming back for the papaya salad, eggplant, and escargot with marrow. fire alarm did go off three times while we were dining and music constantly dipped in volume drastically. other than those auditory issues, gorgeous experience.

My god. There are few places Ive ever been to, which evoke excitement every time we go. This is such a place. It's unbelievably good. Each time we order the sticky rice and I ask myself every time whether it truly is the best thing Ive ever eaten. And it really is the best thing ive ever eaten!! Shaky beef is great. Lemon grass chicken is fabulous. Even the noodles (wet or dry) are great. Theres nothing you can really have thats wrong here, except maybe the lobster which is overpriced for what it is. Its just amazing. The experience, the music (gangster rap), the food, the service...fabulous!!
