Behind an unmarked door adjacent to the wine room, guests are transported to District 1 (China Town) in Saigon via Blackhouse’s 28-seat restaurant-within-a-restaurant, LSXO. A spinoff of the Little Sister brand (Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach & Downtown Los Angeles), LSXO is love letter to the culture, heritage, and lineage of Vietnam (Vuong’s relatives hail from the region). While Little Sister is known for its French Vietnamese menu, LSXO follows the same Southeast Asian inspiration with a more refined feel.

“There is no signage for LSXO—you can spot the entrance of it tucked into a section inside Bluegold, but you’ll have to know it’s there. While Bluegold is light, bright, and airy, LSXO is its darker, edgier little sister,” says Vuong. “Both restaurants operate out of the same kitchen, though the menus are completely different. LSXO offers straight-up, honest, home-style Vietnamese cuisine—the type of food I grew up eating with my grandparents in the San Gabriel Valley

Sea bass and salmon were so delicious. The best meal. Chef Thomas is very talented. I never had a bad meal from him. Excellent job . Thanks

Food, service and sunset view were outstanding, my only constructive criticism is one of our dining chairs was worn and ripped open you could see a 1 foot wide swath of the chair’s stuffing. Simple fix…

Food was unique and delicious. Was very cold in the restaurant. Nearly uncomfortably cold. Having the T.V. on completely took away from the ambience of the intimate and unique space. Would otherwise be a very exceptional experience.

Exceeded my expectations! Located inside/within a restaurant, almost like a hidden secret door. Nice and cozy atmosphere offering superb high quality well flavored delicious meals including excellent customer service! Love the groovy upbeat music genre! Best tasting food I probably have ever tasted!

Best Southeast Asian food I ate in the US. Great place with a nice view of the Ocean. I highly recommend this restaurant. Also fairly priced and generous portions

The food and service were excellent. The decor is chic and comfortable with rich fabrics, exposed wood and brick butterfly details. I was just a bit disappointed that the menu was exactly the same as Little Sister. I know it's from the same restaurant group, but I was hoping for a different, surprise menu. The cocktails were unique though and delicious.

The service was poor, food preparation was slow, and we were never offered a desert menu for a known 'Birthday' celebration! The bill was charged incorrectly (not enough) and then charged again for another amount (poor calculating). It was a terrible inconvenience, given we were headed out of the restaurant! Overall, the sloppy service ruined my sister's birthday ! My family was so very disappointed !!!

The food is always great at LSXO. Love the ambiance and the music. Service is always attentive without being overwhelming. The AC was a little too cold for me. This is not a big issue, but it makes it a little uncomfortable. Will always return.
