Long before the farm-to-table trend invaded America, Louisa’s espoused this philosophy, and served food to match. The tiny-but-iconic eatery was established in 1980 and has been dishing out incredibly fresh and delicious food in the small historic yellow building ever since. The menu is all regional fare — fish caught from the Atlantic Ocean and Delaware Bay, plus vegetables, fruits, herbs (and beautiful fresh flowers) from West Cape May’s Beach Plum Farm, augmented by produce from other New Jersey farms.

The kitchen philosophy is to cook simple, expertly seasoned dishes that are lovingly prepared and made from fresh, first-rate ingredients. The menu changes often but the one constant you’ll find here is the dedication to a great dining experience.

Wonderful meal in a charming setting! The restaurant is tiny, but so pretty. Lots of seafood options. We had the scallops and shrimp. Both were excellent!

Wanted this experience to be better. Way too many tiny tables shoved in to a tiny space which makes the atmosphere loud, cramped and service difficult. Salads were good but the entrees were a bit bland so the food didn’t make up for the lack of ambiance.

Louisa’s is one of our favorite places in Cape May! The food is always delicious and desserts are not to be missed! Such a sweet little spot in beautiful Cape May!

Excellent food. Crab cakes and scallops were devine. Key lime pie was amazing. Decadent chocolate pie. Sitting outside around sunset to get lit ambiance is advised. Perfect anniversary dinner spot!

My husband and I enjoyed an amazing meal at Luisa's Cafe before heading to the Cape May Stage for a show. The menu is farm to table and everything was extremely fresh. As I don't eat much meat, it was so nice to have a completely vegetarian choice. Service was pleasant. It's a BYOB! The only con is that the restaurant is very small (charming) and the tables are quite close together making it hard not to hear other conversations. Overall we had a great experience and will definitely be back!

As always Louisa’s delights. I had my go-to, which is the salmon rilletes and the flounder. Crab cakes were good, too (my husband ordered those)!

Everything was ok, we felt like the food was lacking some flavor, not that it was bad but wouldn’t go back. There are to many better restaurants in Cape May to enjoy. Service was good.

Excellent experience - fresh food, excellently prepared and large portions. Haven’t found one option on the menu that was not superb! Highly recommended!

Noisy tightly packed dining area. Food was average. Cole slaw and rice sides were bland with no dressings or seasoning, just shredded cabbage and plain rice.
