Celebrating over 30 years of award winning classic & modern Italian cuisine! Owner Terry Antonelli believes in a warm and elegant approach to fine dining. Chef Walter Cotta shops at local farmer's and produce markets throughout the week to insure the best quality ingredients. Our pastas, raviolis, bread, sauces and desserts are homemade. His menu also includes a number of vegan and gluten free items that are sure to please all palates. For dinner or a private event, L'Opera is a must!

    8 of us dined at the restaurant. Everyone in our party raved about the service, food and ambience. Great dining area, absolutely 1st class.

    Always wonderful. Love the food and the service. Had Osso Buck and Farfalla cocktail.

    Our Saturday night family dinner was very good: excellent food (loved the osso buco special), with very fast and friendly service. The menu was a good size with a nice variety of Italian fare, from bistecca to pastas. The only drawback to L'Opera is what is advertised in the name: OPERA. An opera singer will move around the restaurant and sing short operettas. Granted he was a very good singer, but trying to have a dinner conversation while the opera singer is booming away at the next table is impossible.

    The food was good. My only complaint was that we were lead to believe a salad was included with our entree. The waiter said which would you like a Cesar or Garden salad ? When the check arrived they were $18 each.

    We had a phenomenal experience. Coming from Hawaii where good Italian food is non-existent and service is usually horrible, I was happy to see it still exists in other parts of the Country. The service experienced at L’Opera was some of the best I have ever had. Not only was our server Alfredo friendly and upbeat, but he was very accommodating to menu changes. Albeit the restaurant was not very busy, but it was 9:30 PM. With our special requests accepted, the food came and was some of the most delicious Italian food I have had. From the flavorful sauce, the homemade pasta, to the well seasoned and breaded Chicken Parmesan I highly recommend L’Opera to all who find themselves in Long Beach looking for good Italian food. Plus, we were told that during happy hour entrees and drink are 50% off !! (Verify at your own risk)

    The chef needs to go to Italy to understand what good Italian food is. That was the worst food I have had in a very long time

    Our favorite restaurant!! We love absolutely everything about it! The bar is amazing, the food never disappoints, the ambience is next level, and the staff...well, everyone is lovely. When they almost closed for good around COVID time we were devastated!! So happy they came through it! This is our go to date night place.

    Another great dining experience at L'Opera! We were sat immediately, the service levels are always stellar. Our server, Scott was fun, engaging and he made the appropriate recommendations for wine to match wonderfully with our meal choices. The quality of the food is always high and they did not forget to honor my guest for his birthday with a delicious slice of cheesecake!

    We had a wonderful time! We had a wonderful meal, the food is amazing and the service was top notch. Josh was our server and he was fantastic! I highly recommend this restaurant.
