Food was good but the music was so loud we couldn’t even hear each other talk across the table. I left with a headache.

Popular for a reason! Food is great, prices are reasonable, and the staff are amazing - it’s a little noisy so not really a “ quiet dinner” sort of place but it is a fun place to go on a Friday night

The food here is honestly amazing. The music can be a little loud to have a conversation but it's definitely a lively atmosphere.

Our group enjoyed the new menu and ambiance. I especially liked my passionfruit mojito with boba. The server had accidentally brought a passionfruit margarita but was quick to correct. Prices were on the higher side for food portions I thought. Was worth the try but I personally love the OG locations for their free chips.

This was the 2nd time here. Food was rushed out and was cold. Server kept coming to ask if we needed anything and then again said oh my manager is pushing me to leave so can you pls pay your bill!

We have been long time Lone Star patrons, and were not aware of the change to the 'Cantina' in the Whitby location. The new menu is a big step backwards in our opinion, smaller portions and higher prices. The 'modern' decore was like a noisy cafeteria, especially in the large corner booth where it was difficult to have a decent conversation without having to raise our voices. Four of our party of 6 shared fajitas and while the flavour was very good, the portions were much smaller than the original Lone Star we enjoyed in Pickering and the original Whitby location. The $42 'Steak Frites' strip loin was quite small with a handful of shoestring fries. I had the ribs which were very tasty, but for $34 I was expecting more than a half rack. The cole slaw that came with it was yucky. We spoke with the very nice manager who appreciated our feedback. Our server was outstanding and having worked there for 17 years did her best to help us figure out the new menu.

Unfortunately we had a negative dining experience last night. I booked here to celebrate my son’s 21st birthday, however the service was so poor it dimmed the celebrations. 6 of us received our orders at the same time, then one had to wait over 10 minutes for his meal. The rest of us were taking our last bite as he received his meal. My father ordered a started salad, it arrived after he had completed his main meal, and only after asking about it twice. The diner who got his fajitas last asked for more tortilla shells, they never arrived. We had to ask twice to get our glasses of water refilled before we saw any more water. Overall I don’t think I will be back anytime soon. If you are looking for a great taco meal try SURF in downtown Whitby.

Got the nachos which were great. The chicken sandwich with the big pepper in it had its massive stem still attached lol and the coleslaw was pretty bad :(

This was an excellent evening! The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. Our server was attentive without being intrusive and totally engaged with our table. The 'new' menu at the cantina was great as were the drinks. It was more expensive than expected but still an excellent value for the experience! Certainly worth the visit and we WILL go again!
