Second time dining here as a local I wanted to try it again to see if it improved because it is a brand new place. My experience was even worse than the first time - very loud - server couldn’t hear us and service was very slow. I ordered the Cobb salad, which hardly had anything in it, and I asked for grilled chicken with it. They gave me some roasted chicken breast that was subpar and looked like it was cooked five days ago. my husband enjoyed his burger. Tables are way too close together and the tables for two are on top of the other tables so you can’t sit there and have a conversation. Pretty much had to beg the hostess this time for a bigger table, which is ridiculous. The customer should be comfortable. She did not want to seat our party of two in a table for four. And if you want something nonalcoholic to drink the prices there are more expensive than a beer. Six dollars for a soda is insane.

the food was outstanding. the service was great.... the decor was fantastic and everyone on the staff was very friendly.

We had a great table near the kitchen, it was fun to watch all the action happening! The restaurant was very busy, but I didn't feel like the noise level was too loud. We ordered caesar and chopped salads, steak, pasta bolognese, the French wine and the Lock and Key cocktail. Everything was delicious and the service was great.

We were excited to try this new place and it did not disappoint! Food was excellent and place was beautifully remodeled from previous restaurant.

We were seated within a couple of minutes (reservation). Small plates were excellent! Corn, ricotta, deviled eggs. All great. Downsides are that it is very loud (echoey high ceilings) and bar beverages are very slow. I asked for a glass of wine to come out with my dinner but the server didn’t bring it until dinner was pretty much done (I didn’t drink it). Also ordered a salad with no onions (allergy) and it came out full of chopped onions. They replaced and credited that which was nice. Would we return? I suppose, but no rush because of the issues mentioned. Again, the food is great! We wish them great success.

First of all this place is new so I’m sure they will get better with time. The place is beautiful and such a nice addition to downtown Branford. It’s pretty loud and so we struggled to hear our server. He needed to speak up a bit more. It took an hour and twenty minutes for three hamburgers and a piece of Halibut. Not good. The food was tasty but not good enough for me to want to go there over some of the other great places we have on the shoreline. Also not nearly enough variety on the menu. I think this place will do great with a younger crowd and the fact that they stay open late will make it a hot spot. I wish them nothing but success.

Dined at Lockworks, and honestly, I don’t think I would go back. The inside is very rustic looking the bar area is beautiful. The menu is very limited. There’s not a lot of choices. Appetizers nothing that made me want to order. Ended up with a baked half chicken over wilted greens with confit potatoes. The seasoning on it was good. You don’t get a lot of food for your money. The only thing chocolate on the dessert menu was chocolate cake for two. I don’t know why you can’t have chocolate cake for one. I did try the peanut butter and jelly Whoopie pie, it was fair. When you first get there, they bring popcorn to the table. Needless to say I came home feeling hungry. The weight staff was very attentive, one of the managers stopped by the table.

The restaurant attempted to upcharge us on a Manhattan cocktail because I ordered it “up” with no ice. Was told they needed to charge me extra for the extra liquor required to fill the class. Absolutely ridiculous. Stay away at all cost from a place content to nickel and dime a customer

We had a party of 10 people, food, drinks and service were exceptional, we had appetizers, seafood, steak, chicken, everyone in our group all were very pleased. Highly recommend this great new restaurant.
