Located in the heart of Marina del Rey, Locanda Positano is a hidden gem in the Los Angeles food scene. Cozy and romantic, this family-owned restaurant serves high-end authentic Italian dishes paired with imported wines hand selected by our sommelier. A few must-try dishes from Chef Michelangelo Pinto's seasonally driven menu include Pappardelle al Cinghiale-- pappardelle with wild boar, Branzino al Livornese, or the Tagliatelle with shaved Italian Black Truffles. Dine under the stars on the private patio for the ultimate al fresco experience or inside surrounded by a rotating collection of artwork from our in-house art gallery and studio.

Dining at Locanda Positano is always a pleasure. The service is attentive and professional, and the food is of extremely high quality. We dined in their outdoor patio area, which was pleasant and comfortable. Starters, entrees and side dishes for the evening: a burrata flatbread with a generous portion of black truffles; a classic homemade spaghetti in tomato sauce; a delicious homemade spaghetti in a light pesto sauce with salmon; and a side of rapini. For dessert, we had a plate of warm fresh bomboloni and an assortment of gelato. All highly recommended. Don't be fooled by their humble building facing Lincoln Boulevard -- a superb dining experience awaits inside!

fantastic "real italian" italian food! i could have been in tuscany. short rib rigatoni is out of this world. the owners patrizia and martin, are there warmly welcoming everyone and the patio ambience is so tranquil and romantic. it's the whole package!

Outstanding dishes- the standout for me being the squid ink tagliatelle with saffron sauce and shrimp and scallops. The lasagna was also fantastic. Service was great, very attentive and personable. Will be returning soon.

Food was great..we were a bit rushed.. even though the place was not packed for a Friday night at 7pm. I've never been to a restaurant where I had to order my appetizers, wine and meal all at the same time. Parking is very limited. $8.00 for valet.

Service was excellent. Stefano and Carlos did an amazing job. Food was very mediocre. Seafood and fish were overcooked. Prices were high for the level of cuisine. Ambience was nice.

The food was very good Italian -- all our food and appetizers were prepared well. Portion sizes were just right. We thought that the prices were pretty high given the decor, attention to details, neighborhood and surroundings. One plus is the proximity to LAX if you need a meal before catching a flight.

We ate during LA restaurant week. Almost everything was superb. The service was also excellent. The only exception was the desserts (tiramisu and boboloni), which was inextricably mediocre (especially the tiramisu). Leaving aside the desserts, it was a fantastic evening. We'll definitely return :)))

Don't bother making a reservation for an outside table; it is not honored except (according to the manager) on weekends. They apparently feel no need to contact people with outside reservations on their availability. Sitting inside is extremely noisy. Service is great, food OK, a bit hit and miss.
