Locanda Locatelli is one of the finest Michelin-starred Italian restaurants in London, owned by Giorgio Locatelli, noted as much for its conviviality as the quality of its food.

Born into a cooking dynasty in Corgeno on the shores of Lake Comabbio in Northern Italy, Giorgio Locatelli is considered by many to be one of the finest Italian chefs in the UK and the world. At Locanda Locatelli, Giorgio serves traditional Italian dishes, emphasising the quality and freshness of the produce as well as adding his own creative touch

                                                                      Very nice Restaurant in London, real italian high quality food. Superb service, really professional and top level. Nonetheless it’s a one-Michelin-star, deserved!

                                                                      Posto bello, personale gentile. Cappellacci alla zucca ottimi, linguine all’’astice direi nella norma. Tartare di manzo molto buona, il baccalà mantecato risultava massoso, se sfilacciato il piatto aveva una combinazione degli ingredienti ottima. Tiramisù forse un po’ troppo imbevuto di caffè per i miei gusti, la crema era quasi per lo più panna.

                                                                      When I realised Locatelli was closing at the end of this year I wanted to visit as a tribute to my late wife who loved the restaurant (and Giorgio) so I dined alone for lunch. The service and meal were superb, with a question mark over the beef tartare which was a bit offbeat for my taste (the meat was invisible underneath and creamy foam/mousse) , but was nonetheless good. The espresso martini I had in place of dessert was probably the best I've ever had and my papardelle followed by calves liver were excellent. It was a shame that when I arrived I was near some guy who was pitching some idea to what I took to be potential investors and he had an incredibly loud delivery which was irritating until the restaurant filled up and the general ambience drowned him out! Only other question mark for me was that whilst the wines were great, they were above average pricey which was a shame, but hey ho, the food and service were superb overall and I would definitely return, just a shame they are shutting down.

                                                                      The only place I know of that does Hare Ragu. Delicious and very filling. My wife’s Calves liver was excellent. Do not over fill on the bread. We had glass each of Rami orange wine and I had a Sardinian red. Both excellent and plenty of knowledge from the Sommelier. Service as usual was exceptional . It was nice to see the owner chef sitting down to eat his own food with a party.

                                                                      Tutto ottimo, abbiamo trovato con piacere il servizio migliorato riaspetto a dicembre 2022... Un Gran peccato per il tiramisù, siamo italiani di Roma per la precisione, e conosco benissimo tutte le caratteristiche che DEVE avere questo dessert, essendo tra i miei preferiti. È inaccettabile, (in un locale del genere, per giunta italiano), quindi servire in questo modo il tiramisù. Deve essere avvolgente, corposo, delicato ma allo stesso tempo deciso invece purtroppo abbiamo ricevuto una montagnetta di panna montata insipida, con cacao in polvere sopra e sotto dei biscotti bagnati di caffè (cattivo)... assolutamente inaccettabile... questo finale ci ha un po rovinato l'intera esperienza super positiva che era stata fino a quel momento. Gran dispiacere.

                                                                      È la seconda volta che torno a Londra e vado a mangiare alla Locanda Locatelli. Un posto eccezionale dove l’italianità emerge in ogni dettaglio. Cibo squisito e personale eccezionale, accogliente e professionale. Sicuramente un’esperienza che consiglio.
