Locanda Locatelli is one of the finest Michelin-starred Italian restaurants in London, owned by Giorgio Locatelli, noted as much for its conviviality as the quality of its food.

Born into a cooking dynasty in Corgeno on the shores of Lake Comabbio in Northern Italy, Giorgio Locatelli is considered by many to be one of the finest Italian chefs in the UK and the world. At Locanda Locatelli, Giorgio serves traditional Italian dishes, emphasising the quality and freshness of the produce as well as adding his own creative touch

                                                                      Prawns mango carpaccio was bland you can’t even taste the mango, linguine lobster was undercooked and salty, hardly any lobster, tiramisu was whipped cream with cocoa powder thrown on it. Service was terrible, manager or supervisor was very aggressive and didn’t take criticism lightly, staff didn’t know what they were serving. Most importantly, if the client chooses not to speak the same language as yours, this doesn’t mean that the client doesn’t speak the language.

                                                                      The worst Italian meal I’ve had in a longtime. The starter, burrata and pumpkin, was less than the sum of its parts. Lifeless, loveless and dull. The red mullet main course was overcooked, dead, served with a tasteless sauce. This is no River Cafe, nor is this half as good as my cheap Italian local, Briciole, in Homer Street. Overpriced and served with pretention by rough staff. A ghastly and expensive experience. Avoid at all cost.

                                                                      I had heard good things about this restaurant. In my experience I found that other than the special pasta, a ravioli with mushroom, which was delicious , the menu was fairly predictable and the food above average, but not extraordinary I was waiting for something the would shout Michelin star, but was underwhelmed. The waiter and sommeiller seemed rather bored. Too many choices in London. Will not be going back
