Locanda dell’Orso is inspired by the old legend of the Innkeeper and the Bear. Here you’ll find the ambiance of a warm Italian home, built on the promise of a welcoming and indulgent culinary experience throughout. Fresh pasta made in house daily, with dishes found across Northern and Coastal Italy, ingredients are sourced locally from small farms and imported especially from the Italian regions from which they are best known.

Tried some starters, octopus carpaccio and vitello tonnato were outstanding. Dish of the day perfectly done. Cool ambiance and excellent service. Professional, attentive and friendly. Will be back

We did the tasting menu. It was good but a couple of dishes I felt were just okay. The carpaccio was quite salty and I felt like many of the dishes had the same ingredients in them (ie green beans and olives) there was a lot of bread that I felt was unnecessary for the entire meal. Service was excellent and they were very friendly.

Highlights for us were the burrata and fresh farm tomatoes, focaccia, rabbit ragu tagliatelle, pistachio tiramisu, panne cotta, shakerato Campari cocktail, fun, engaged and knew his stuff Milano bartender, oh I guess that makes it everything! Wonderful night out!

Decided to try this new Italian restaurant. Great experience. Fresh and authentic Italian food. Good wines option as well. Pastas perfectly done. Thank you for the great service.

Worst Italian meal in Vancouver so far… I had no comments, everything was salty and not worth the price point

Really really great service. Excellent food. Small space becomes warm with the kitchen cooking, but an excellent experience overall!!

The pasta is the star! Absolutely worth going just for the pasta alone. Appetizers were solid. Service was great. They checked in on us the right amount and ensured we had new cutlery and plates between courses. My only complaint was the markup on drinks. A single glass of wine might set you back the cost of the whole bottle at BCLC (think 3x).
