L'oca D'oro, signifiant "oie d'or" en italien, a été inspiré par le surnom de la fille du chef Tedesco, Lucy Goose. Le chef Tedesco présente une variété de plats italiens dans des formats individuels ou à partager.     Food made from scratch is tough to beat! Great meal but the restaurant atmosphere wasn’t my favorite. We still enjoyed it very much, especially when the series of servers shared their knowledge with us. Service was fantastic.

    This was my second visit and it was fantastic. The service, food and beverages were top notch. I can not recommend this restaurant enough. Don’t miss out on this amazing restaurant!!!

    We have been long-time customers of L'Oro D'Oro. We were excited that they survived Covid We hadn't been there in sometime and were excited to visit this evening, learning of the new fixed-menu format. Whereas the food was good, we felt it was a bit light-- I left hungry! The portions were quite small, period. The appetizer and first dishes were tasty, however the pasta and meat entree were franky very, very small. The Lamb entree was one small piece, one mere piece of lamb-- period! We hadn't been there in a while, and I'm unsure it's worth returning. Too many choices in Austin. To spend over $200 bucks, at minimum you'd walk away not having to stop at P Terry's on the way home. Disappointing.

    Paul, Thanks for coming back in to try the new menu. We really appreciate this feedback and, in fact, will be trying a slightly new format for the Set Menu that I think you'll appreciate. When you're ready I hope you'll come back and let me know if we've met some of your issues. Of course, there's also still the a la carte menu and Happy Hour available on the bar side if you're not ready to jump back in to the Dining Room menu.     We had a good time. We ordered the chef tasting menu, since the a la cart menu was extremely small and didn’t offer options. The overall menu was very different from what we expected for an Italian restaurant. The plates were well prepared but for a tasting menu I thought that the were too big.

    The Chef's menu was delightful. We experienced interesting and intense flavors with each offering. The portion sizes varied and this added to the sensory pleasure of the meal overall. Smaller portions of intense flavor and large portions of the blended or mild flavors let us slow down and truly enjoy each bite. Standouts for this seasonal offering: the sourdough focaccia bread was amazing featuring multi-flavored herbs, oils and the butter. The lamb sausage and torchon with creamed carrots had such a lovely dill feature enhancing the crispy tender meat and the sweetness of the carrots. Shout out to our wonderful bottle of wine from the Pugli region, the Susumaniello.
