The Lobby Lounge is a destination where art and architecture are emphasized. Guests find themselves in the 90-seat Lobby Lounge – an urban living room – where natural light streams through two-story windows highlighting large scale paintings, sculpture and an Italian handcrafted Fazioli piano set amid furniture vignettes in contemporary dove-grey leather sofas and chairs.

We didn’t enjoy sitting on the couch and trying to reach for the food. It was very uncomfortable. Higher table and chairs would be much better. Didn’t like the debit machine showed the total amount and not the base amount before tax when choosing percentage for tips. It was very deceiving to try and get customers to pay for tips and have it defaulted on the total amount. Not cozy for a high tea setting. Food was good but portions are way too small for the price. Tea was mediocre.

Food items for tea amazing - best were the sweets! But took too long to get from the kitchen (over 30 minutes!). Never had to wait this long before. Waitress offered free beverages and tried to hurry them up. Not her fault. But all in all another great tea.

This was my first visit to Shangri-La, Toronto and it will certainly not be my last. Upon entering and checking in, you can feel the warmth and hospitality from staff. We experienced the Sky-High Afternoon tea event and the food and service was truly exceptional. Will certainly come back with friends and family for their upcoming future events.

We usually go to the Winsor Arms for tea but thought we’d try something different this time and sadly, we were very disappointed. It was wildly expensive (almost $500 for 4 of us) and we honestly didn’t like any of the food. I hate to be negative, but other than the ambiance being nice, can’t think of much positive to say. We wouldn’t have minded paying so much if it had been as delicious as we’d hoped, but alas…. Tea wasn’t hot either. Sorry to say, that we won’t be rushing back anytime soon. Back to the Winsor arms for us.

I was at the Afternoon Tea and every bite was delicious. Very creative and despite some of the sweets looked as if it would be heavy. None was. Every bite was lite and tasty. Loved it.

Our recent Sky-High afternoon tea at Shangri-La Toronto fell short due to poor service. During our two-hour session, our initial server appeared only three times to serve tea, delivery the tray and inform us of her departure. Afterward, we waited in vain for more tea and were not provided with the boarding pass required to participate in the Cathay Pacific draw, despite the opportunity being advertised. We had to follow up separately to learn how to enter, which was inconvenient. Service lapses like these overshadowed an otherwise pleasant setting and ambiance.

I went here for my birthday with a few friends, and the service was amazing. We had quite a few dietary restrictions, but the chef made sure to make us an entirely separate menu to accommodate them, which I really appreciated.
