everything was outstanding the food was delicious the drink was perfect and the music was a great choice for that milieu

We had to wait a lot for the waiter to show up and he didn’t even brought the water we asked for.

I booked a table for 8 people for 10 p.m. 2 weeks in advance as we had friends from abroad staying that night in Budapest. We arrived at 10.05 p.m. and had to wait 15 minutes on the ground floor without anyone assisting us (the hotel receptionist whom we asked advised us to wait). Finally when we were escorted to the roof top there was no free table on the terrasse (were I booked the table), so we had to sit down and wait. We had been waiting for another 50 minutes!!! In the meantime I asked the waitress several times and also asked for the manager of the bar. The manager was totally incompetent, he said he could not make the guests leave. This is absurd as in all places like this the venue states at the time of the booking how long you can stay or else they should not let people book the table. We should have left after 10 minutes but as the manager said we could occupy our table hopefully any time, we stayed. By the time we finally got the table (which was the farthest from the view), within a couple of minutes the lights of the famous buildings of the city were switched off and this is what we came to see. I go to roof top bars and restaurants quite often, never had such a bad experience. This was my first and last visit to this place which states they are a 5 star bar:))

We received excellent service every time we come. In my opinion, it is the best bar in Budapest where you can get good service with a magnificent view.

Great place to see the sun set over Budapest. Enjoy views of Elisabeth and Chain bridges and the budapest skyline whilst sipping on drinks.

I booked the Liz & Chain Rooftop Bar for Sunday 2nd June around 7pm because I heard good reviews about its location and ambiance. Now don’t get me wrong the view and the ambiance was amazing and to go the rooftop bar for sunset to night is a definite must on the list of things to do in Budapest…. Unfortunately that’s where the good review stops. The service from the waiter was good but the food was disappointing * waiting to be received in the lobby of the Marriott, only one person controlling reception meaning they had to keep taking guests up stairs leaving the lobby without anyone. * Kalamata olives were way too salty * We only got the pita bread and no hummus after asking for it * The chicken satay was also salty but the peanut sauce was nice * the cheeseboard was nice too could have done with a few more crackers * We asked for a glass of water and got a bottle * We asked for a Diet Coke and got a Pepsi max The last 2 points were not too much of an issue but the net cost was circa £68 including a negroni which was nice The final piece is we had to ask for the bill twice to pay and it took nearly 15-20 mins we should have just walked out they soon would have chased for the bill. I very rarely provide feedback if the overall experience was good. I would have expected much, much more from the Marriott Hotel in Budapest in terms of quality of service….quite disappointed! - Would I recommend the place - yes for the view….. - Would I go back, yes for the view but just have drinks next time. I hope the venue picks up it service as it would be outstanding a location to visit if it did.
