Located in the historic neighborhood of Rittenhouse Square, Little Water is the latest restaurant from husband-and-wife team, Chef Randy Rucker and Amanda Rucker. Inspired by the Ruckers' experiences living along the Gulf Coast, New England, and Mid-Atlantic regions, Little Water is a contemporary coastal restaurant that celebrates the ecological diversity of life by the sea.

The sister restaurant to the acclaimed East Passyunk Avenue gem, River Twice—which has been recognized by The Philadelphia Inquirer and The New York Times, and has earned Chef Randy’s Philadelphia Magazine’s “Best Chef” and, most recently, a James Beard Award nomination in 2024 for Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic—Little Water continues the Ruckers' dedication to sustainability and local sourcing. With an a la carte menu inspired by the dynamic ecosystem of tranquil marshes, expansive bays, and secluded coves, Little Water captures the coastal spirit in a warm and lively atmosphere.

We were so happy that Little River finally opened. It exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was beautiful. So happy to have this less than 2 blocks from home!

We had a really wonderful experience at Little Water, the food, the wine, the cocktails and the service was excellent! The Grand Plateau, Caesar-like salad, and Whole Fried Black Bass were stand out dishes.

Thrilled to have this little gem in the Hood! Was so delicious ! The only bad was the wine pour! It was not good !

Extremely expensive. Actually more expensive than most restaurants which I wouldn’t mind if the food was decent. It wasn’t. Ambience is great but that’s about it

Amazing… food, ambience, music level, service and every little detail. They did this right. Second night of the opening week - did not skim on staff, well prepared and the menu…. Squid biscuits with ham, sourdough with uni, butternut Squash Dessert. Love

We had a delicious meal on our first visit to Little Water. Everything we had was wonderfully prepared. The shrine cocktail was delicious, and we liked how it was presented with our oysters and scallops. The squid ink biscuits were a delicious surprise. A great start ...

We went on opening weekend, and are so glad we did! The raw options are plentiful, and we thoroughly enjoyed the oysters and shrimp cocktail. We followed it up with the hash brown covered in crab and uni. As someone who was hesitant about uni, I thought it was the perfect addition to the dish. Our favorite dish was the swordfish milanese, which was served with a delicious side salad. Lastly, the espresso martini was the perfect dessert. Not only are the food and drinks incredible; the staff is extremely personable and inviting. They already had helpful advice and recommendations to share when we were indecisive. Little Water is absolutely worth a visit!

Had a great dinner at Little Water’s opening night! The service was lovely and the courses were paced well. The cocktails were particularly great - we had the Ocean Water and the LW Martini. For food, we had the sourdough miche, hashbrowns with crab and uni, the not-Caesar salad, farro verde, and the chicken. The hashbrowns and salad were fantastic! The farro was decent - though felt like it needed more flavor - and the chicken was very nice. We also had the fudge pops for dessert, which were very fun and tasted great. We will definitely be back!
