Located in the heart of Cambridge, opposite the Fitzwilliam Museum, this beautiful gastro-pub boasts historical charm and a delicious menu to complement the surroundings. Dating back 500 years, original features including exposed beams and interconnecting dining rooms are still intact and provide a wonderful setting for guests to enjoy.

The menu boasts expertly prepared gastro-pub style food, made using quality-sourced ingredients including steaks from renowned Scottish butcher John Gilmour, alongside a variety of fresh seafood. Plus a fully stocked bar including a carefully curated wine list and a range of seasonal cocktails.

Lovely meal in nice settings, very enjoyable will definitely book again when in Cambridge.

My daughter had heard good reviews from her friends about the food so we went for Sunday roast to celebrate her birthday. The service was poor. We asked for water for the table 3 times and ended up helping myself to some ice water in the bar area. (All other tables had jugs of water on them) When I said I had food allergies, I was asked to scan the QR code to check the ingredients. When the waitress took my order, I asked to remove my Yorkshire pudding (as it would have eggs and dairy). The food came with the Yorkshire pudding and I had to remind them of my allergies! The pork was excellent, as well as the red cabbage and kale. However, the roast potatoes tasted stale like they had been sitting for a while the carrots and gravy were tasteless. To top it all off, there was a 12.5% service charge added to the bill. I would have asked for it to be removed but didn’t want to cause a scene on my daughter’s burtuday celebration. We had high expectations but will not be returning

I was really disappointed with the food. My fish pie was mostly spinach and potatoes with little fish and the side order of cabbage was dry and small. My fellow guest had the sole and it was over cooked with a very watery source. He left at least half his dish. Very poor.

The staff were extremely helpful and very courteous and polite. The food was good quality and delicious and the service was spot on. A very pleasant experience.

An atmospheric former pub with a cool, dark interior with ambience and a sunny courtyard for cocktails or al fresco meals. The food was very good - one of the best veggie/vegan wellingtons I have had and my froliend's porchetta was crisp and succulent, both came with all the trimmings and they serve these sunday roasts fron lunch til 8pm. Dessert of profiteroles with mascarpone and saltd caramel sauce were great and all washed down by a nice negroamaro. All topped off be very pleasant service. It was a lovely evening, thank you.
