In January 2020, Little Madrid Tapas Café opened in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood, a small, cozy, and colorful space. The restaurant transported guests back to Old Madrid with its warm atmosphere, delicious flavors, and enticing aromas that emanated from the kitchen. With a global pandemic raging around the world, Little Madrid Tapas Café remained a steady presence in the neighborhood and soon emerged as one of the best Spanish restaurants in Chicago.

Little Madrid NEVER disappoints, from the delicious and most authentic Spanish food (I have tried many Spanish food restaurants) in Chicago, to the ambience and the service, Little Madrid is always perfect. I will always go to Little Madrid and no other place for a true taste of my Spanish heritage.

I just celebrated my birthday at Little Madrid Tapas Cafe last night and the flamenco show, the vibes and the food were spectacular! This restaurant always takes me back to Spain 🇪🇸 I hope they host flamenco shows often. Thank you for a great birthday celebration!

I’ve been here before and enjoyed it. However this visit wasn’t as enjoyable. It was a Saturday night and it was really crowded with tables crammed together. I was bumped many times by waiters navigating the narrow aisles. There was a flamenco performance that was loud and the singing was not great. Unbeknownst to us, we had to pay a surcharge of $15, $7.50 per person, for the entertainment. Food was ok. Note also that their automatic selection of a tip calculates it including the entertainment charge and tax. Id go back, but not on a weekend.

Had high hopes, but disappointed. Tables jammed together like sardines. More than 1/2 of tapas were luke warm; eggplant weirdly sweet(?); desserts came out 15-20 minutes apart, then coffee another 10 minutes after that. Had to go to bar to get our bill because waiter forgot about us. Just sad. Go to Cafe Marbella instead - never let's us down.

The food was good, but the tables were small and the venue was cramped. It was also very noisy and hard to hold a conversation. That wasn't counting the whining child that periodically let out spine tingling screams. There isn't much the management could do about the child. The table with the child was out of our view, so I don't know what the management tried to do (e.g., offer coloring books, ask the parents to take the child out, etc.), but this went on for the entire time we were there and the was still going on when we left.

We had a great experience at Little Madrid. Based on our travel to Madrid, the food is very authentic, though perhaps larger sized than in Madrid, for instance the croquet and meatballs were larger than I thought they would be but they were delicious!!! The tapas dishes we had were all terrific and better than any other Spanish restaurants we’ve tried. The owner is very warm and friendly!!! We hope this place succeeds! If you want authentic tapas Madrid style, go!!

My experience was fantastic. The service, the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff made me feel special. I will definitely be back soon.
