Little Bull is sincere, nostalgic comfort food, inspired by the palates of first-generation immigrant kids.

Pocho cuisine is not a gimmick. Like Oscar, it’s a little bull-headed, but with no bullshit. It means more than loaded terms like “New American” or “modern Mexican.” And it’s authentic to Chef’s personal experience.

“American food is undefined. But it’s been designated to certain ideas and people. It’s actually evolving, as much as our landscape is a melting pot. As much as my own identity as a first-generation American and chef.”

Pocho started as a term used by people in Mexico to poke fun at the “American” kids who speak Spanglish. At Little Bull, pocho cuisine showcases the evolution of being a chef in America, inspired by every immigrant and their growing influence on our food.

Great experience. Loud, but fun. Cocktails were first rate! Menu was full of foodie jokes and references! Presentation was beautiful and the food was delicious and on point. Highly recommended for a special night out!

Some of the small plates need to be rethought. The octopus was burned and the sauce too tick. This was our second visit and the small plates are a hit and miss. The arepas were gummy and too thick and the guasacaca needed a little bit more flavor. The gambas plate had good taste but they placed big chunks of bread on top of the sauce, so it was soggy when it got served, the bread needs to be served on a side plate. The ceviche still needs some work and the corn looks like and afterthought because it did not absorb any of the ceviche salsa flavors. The older female hostess was rude, she very rudely asked us to hurry up and leave after we had just paid $200 because she had people waiting. We won’t be coming back.

I’m gluten free and had no problem finding food! Pretty much everything was able to be modified to accommodate. Our server was highly knowledgeable, the food and drinks were outstanding, and it was an overall wonderful experience. We sat out on the patio. Highly recommend.

Have eaten there a half-dozen times. Service is always good, good food, nice decor. Nice selection of well-presented small plates. Everything was flavorful as usual. Limited vegetarian and pescatarian options for large plates. Reasonably priced wine selection. Will dine there again.

The menu seems to me to have become much more esoteric than in earlier days. The server was nice, the porch was pleasant. The food was pretty, but a couple more grounded and satisfying menu items would have been welcome at our table.

Awesome experience! Very kind and thoughtful service. Food was amazing. A little disappointed at options that are pescatarian with no menu modifications (still had enough but I LOVE this place because of the seafood that was just that) I got a classic Daiquiri with a favorite spirit of mine and it fell a little flat :/ Had an amzing sparkling pet nat at a really good value. Overall excellent dining experience, thus is just one of, no, my favorite restaurant in Durham so the bar was high. Thank you all!

This is one of my favorite restaurants. I don’t think they could do anything better. The food is always delicious…simple but nuanced it seems like they are always working to improve menu items with rousing success! 10/10 for me.
