Little Bull is sincere, nostalgic comfort food, inspired by the palates of first-generation immigrant kids.

Pocho cuisine is not a gimmick. Like Oscar, it’s a little bull-headed, but with no bullshit. It means more than loaded terms like “New American” or “modern Mexican.” And it’s authentic to Chef’s personal experience.

“American food is undefined. But it’s been designated to certain ideas and people. It’s actually evolving, as much as our landscape is a melting pot. As much as my own identity as a first-generation American and chef.”

Pocho started as a term used by people in Mexico to poke fun at the “American” kids who speak Spanglish. At Little Bull, pocho cuisine showcases the evolution of being a chef in America, inspired by every immigrant and their growing influence on our food.

Food and service at the table were fantastic! But I made this request a week prior: "We have to be outside for health reasons, so if you can't do outdoor with some air movement, please let us know so we can cancel! Thanks." The host was very friendly but "saving us an end table" in a completely plastic-covered space with no active ventilation was obviously not what I was asking for (and there were clearly people sitting at outside tables in the front?). Since I explicitly asked to be notified in advance if they couldn't accommodate me and instead felt pressured to accept the table so as not to make my friends go searching for an open spot somewhere else at 7:15 on a busy Saturday, I'm not sure the service mentality of the management is my ideal. They could have called us even that afternoon if that's when they decided to fully enclose the patio--we would have come back some day and had a great experience, I'm sure. Instead, I'm not sure I'll be returning.

We normally love this place, just didn’t have a good experience this time. Felt rushed; we were seated at the very back of the covered outdoor area which was behind a door and felt really isolated; the scallop tapas dish was tasty but you had to pay extra for bread; I felt that, for 20$, just include the bread. The bread pudding dessert was really dry.

What an awesome spot for a unique dining experience! Our server was fantastic. She explained the menu with ease and a deep understanding of what to pair with what to create the best combination of flavors and textures. The cocktails were delicious and the dining room was a buzz of positive energy. I loved the decor and the attention to detail in the vintage China and stemware selected. The staff seemed to truly enjoy being there! My favorite dish was the Goat Birria Dumplings but everything we tried was perfection.

Great experience! We were seated in the covered outdoor area. Heaters were keeping the atmosphere comfortable. The food and service were excellent!

Oscar is a great chef i know him from Cortez so that's why I visited Little Bull because I heard this was his place. Service was great the Octopus was burned very bad all i could taste was like charcoal it was really bad. Sorry but I won't be going back.

Great food in a cool environment. Interesting but very approachable dishes. Definitely fills its own niche in Durham. We’ll go back!
