The service was terrible on a slow night. Took forever to get drinks. Asked for all food to be served at once. It wasn't. The French Escargot Casserole served with savory French toast and fennel garlic cream was awful. What a way to ruin escargot.

Jenny was our wait staff. She’s incredible and made our everyday meal just a little more special. The escargot has improved, the Caesar salad is always quite good and the scallops and the pasta entrees are delicious! Where I have a huge problem is with the tiny pours from the bar. Lionne is charging us premium for way less than a premium pour. The ice at higher than the old fashioned and the Cabernet was embarrassingly lost in the red wine glass. Give us all a break, and don’t make us feel foolish. If we are at the Inn we will happily pay for good food and good booze. Pour like we are worthy of our reservation.

Where do I begin? As State College residents and PSU alumni, so glad to hear about and follow the relaunch of the Nittany Lion Inn. Made reservations almost two months ago, eagerly awaiting our first experience. We so wanted them to be a success and are sad to say that it was a disaster to the extent that we likely will never return to Lionne. Arriving with another couple, we waited ten minutes while the hostess search for four menus. Understanding that all new restaurants experience opening challenges, how can they not have enough menus for their patrons after almost two months in business? The restaurant was half empty while the bar next door was packed, which was the excuse provided for our alcoholic drinks to take almost twenty-five minutes to reach the table. My order was iced tea and after thirty minutes, I was told the machine was down. All this time we had obviously been drinking water, whose glasses were long empty and not refilled while we waited forever for our drinks. Our meals were brought out in two shifts about ten minutes apart, forcing us to begin eating separately. The food itself was good and well presented, but with no follow up from our server until the meal was concluded. When she was kind enough to pay us a visit, we decided to look at a dessert menu for no other reason than the hope they had retained some of the excellent desserts from the old Nittany Lion Inn dining room. We’ll never know, for when she returned and indicated we’d have to share a dessert menu as they were “short” we’d had enough and took our dehydrated party elsewhere. You simply cannot represent and charge as a mid to upscale restaurant with this level of, honestly, abysmal service. We dine out frequently in the State College area with typically great food and service. Sad to say this is one of the worse experiences we’ve ever had, all the more embarrassing as we had hyped up our visit to the couple who dined with us.

Loved this beautiful old Inn, and the recent remodel was top notch! The ambiance and cocktails were fantastic and the food was good. Morgan the bartender made great drinks despite being understaffed. Definitely would come back !!

We had an excellent dining experience. The ambience is lovely. They have done an amazing job renovating the property. The food was top notch and the service was very good. I highly recommend.

This was our first visit since the Inn reopened in September. We loved the ambiance of the restaurant- low lighting, comfortable seating, easy to have a conversation and overall beautifully decorated. Our waiter was exceptional. She was professional at all times, but very welcoming and friendly. She was knowledgeable about both the food and drink offerings and made helpful suggestions. She checked with us throughout the meal without being overbearing. Truly outstanding service. For dinner, we shared a salad and we ordered seafood entrees. Everything was beautifully presented, perfectly prepared, and delicious. We will definitely return and highly recommend Lionne to anyone wanting to experience something special.

This was without a doubt the worst meal ever. I ordered the Pan Seared Salmon, which three weeks ago came with delicious mashed potatoes, now it comes with sauerkraut. There are no words to describe how terrible the entree was. The restaurant (chefs) are continually changing the menu. This needs to stop and now. I spoke with my server and another gentlemen about my concerns. The chef or chefs need to be FIRED and now. I don't want to hear we are working out the kinks. You are two months in and things should in place They didn't offer a reduction on my meal. I paid full price There is no excuse for this. I have come to this conclusion, we are there for you, You are certainly mot there for us. I WILL NOT BE BACK.

Excellent service. The sea scallops were superb as was the fillet mignon. We dined at at The Lionne mid -week. Perfect time!

The lobster bisque was to die for! The scallops were delectable. Only negative was no monkey business ice cream.
