Some food elements were better than others. Felt a little overpriced for the quality/flavor experience. We perhaps had set our expectations too high by thinking the new renovations would come through in the dining experience. We would go back if we weren’t paying for our meal. Otherwise we like some other local restaurants better. With that being said, we had a nice time and they did a good job with their design update as the atmosphere is unique from other spots around town.

The hotel and restaurant had just opened two weeks prior to our party of 8 dining there. Most of us stayed there, as well. They have some issues to work out in both places. Lionne’s service was great - our waiter was terrific- but the food could have better, especially for the prices. That said, the ambiance was lovely and our group was seated on the “porch” which was very nice.

The Nittany Lion Inn needs to train their waitstaff-we have been there for dinner twice in the last 2 weeks and both times the servers were not trained properly. Our server last night did not know what a martini “up” means & it took 25 minutes to finally get served the martini that we ordered.

Doing well with only several week since opening. End seats in booths are not roomy enough. Otherwise a beautiful dining room.

Food: splendid. Service: abysmal. They just re-opened and the wait staff are still . . . very green. Our poor server did not know what club soda was, served an iced tea that was hot (and, of course, no ice), brought a soup without a spoon. When we asked for a spoon, she offered it, bowl out. When I didn't grasp the spoon, she plunked it into the soup, spilling some onto the table. We never touched our water, but she dutifully came by asking if we wanted more. Perhaps wait a while until the servers can handle things off script. The experience is not cheap, so it was disappointing to receive such bad service.

The restaurant had only been open (after extensive renovation) for about two weeks when we ate there. The service was a little slow at first, and we received our starter course before we received our drinks. The server was most apologetic, and we noticed that in general, drinks were very slow to come out from the bar. I had ordered a dirty martini with olive, and my companion ordered a beer. My martini came in a rocks glass (I'd ordered it straight up) with ice and no olive. Server apologized that the bar "had no olives." The food was all outstanding! Great flavor, perfect portion size. We had the lobster bisque, salmon and the filet mignon. All were excellent. Overall, I would give it another try and hope that the bar issues were just "new staff" problems. The new decor was lovely....elegant and fresh. The server was attentive and we found the prices to be reasonable.

Lionne is on a learning curve—the service is rough, it’s too noisy, and the sommelier looked like he just wandered over from the golf course. Our server asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu while we were still eating our entrees. I’m hopeful Lionne might become a neighborhood fine dining location, but it’s not there yet.

First, I must say that we are so excited that the Nittany Lion Inn is back and open for business. It's gorgeous inside. The apples are back (townie love) and Harpers is an amazing plus! Decor perfect. The bars are lovely too. Perfect ambiance for each one in different ways. We had a wonderful drink in the one attached to the restaurant. Bartenders know what they are doing and were great. From there though, the restaurant has some work ahead of them. I am bummed they chose booths for seating. With the lights on I felt like I was waiting to get my drink and then head to a Lancaster County buffet. Shame they did the booths. And the lights--the manager mentioned they are working on those so I hope they can dim them for sure! Our server, though sweet, was stressed. Didn't even crack a smile. The menu is small and well as the portions and the food was Bland, bland, bland. Had chicken and the duck/lobster. The best thing was the Lobster bisque that they brought back! Yay! We will give it some time to iron out the kinks. Best of luck!

The restaurant is beautiful, waiter was very nice but the menu was small and the items were overpriced for the quality of the food. My daughter and I both ordered the lobster bisque and she only had a few tiny pieces of lobster and I had a ton, although the lobster was chewy and overcooked. Our entrees were solid but not something I felt we would want to come back for. We will try it again at some point if they expand the menu options.
