The restaurant was unprepared for a busy holiday. Service was very slow, and we were seated almost 45 min past our reservation time-this caused us to miss the fireworks and it wasn’t worth it. The food was fair and the added 20% surcharge was unexpected-would not return.

We went on the evening of July 4. They couldn’t have been busier but all went very well. Our server was excellent. This restaurant had much to offer including a rooftop bar area! Highly recommend!

The good: - Beautiful location and decor - Very nice tables - Our main server did a phenomenal job explaining the menu to us. The average: - Service was a mix of good, awkward, and in the end neglectful. We started out with 2-4 people serving the table which was nice but at times confusing who we should talk to. I saw the server in white reprimand some of the other servers while at our table which was awkward. After our main course came, we never saw any of them again and had to wave down a manager from across the room to get the check. If management is reading this, you lost out on dessert and coffee on our ticket because of this. - Decent wine selection - The appetizers were ok, somewhat enjoyable but not great. The could be better: - Over all I think the prices are 30% too expensive for what you get which reminds me a lot of hotel room service quality food. I think we’re probably paying that for location. - The music is way too loud and detracts from the ambience of the otherwise beautiful restaurant. - The fish and lamb course we had were really under seasoned and bland. - The lamb had different temps per medallion. One was medium rare, one medium, one well done. - The fish itself, a $40 item, came with no sides or options for a side. Some vegis or a salad would be nice. It’s a small amount of fish and after paying $300 for the whole meal, I left hungry.

We dined at Limani for the first time for our anniversary. The highlight of this restaurant was the portion sizes of shared plates - easily the biggest in DC and we'll worth the price. Really fresh, delicious food and pairings. It's an investment, but is great for a large table or festive celebration. The desserts were also impeccable. The lowlight was the extreme heat and low cooling, heavy sun combined. The staff was fine but not great. The wait staff were very infrequent at the PH Bar; that said they were very prompt about adding a dish to your order and serving. They were also kind and comped us champagne flutes to celebrate. Maybe the experience would have been different in the dining room but online images didn't distinguish upstairs dining from the Penthouse Bar experience. Overall, would come again!

The food and service were both outstanding. They were experiencing an issue with the air conditioning, which made it a little warm. They also added 20% gratuity for a table for 2 which I found presumptuous. They did not mention it when bringing the bill. Honestly I would’ve left them 20% anyway, but I would’ve been nice to be advised it’s already in there. Overall, it was a really great dinner in a beautiful setting.

The place and views are beautiful, the food is delicious, and our primary server was awesome! Things to be aware of: - TEMPERATURE: it was hot in there! Yesterday was very hot and humid outside and we got little relief when we sat at our table. Part of their appeal is the waterside views through floor to ceiling windows so I understand it can be tough to keep it cool but I was sweating through dinner. The person we mentioned it to said he didn't think the AC was working. Yikes. - SIDES: ask about any sides that come with the dishes you order. They are not all listed on the menu and the servers didn't volunteer the info. They even let us order a serving of cheese that, as it turns out, came with the other dish we ordered. That was frustrating. Next, I ordered a beet salad and tuna entree. After eating the beet salad, my tuna was served... WITH A SIDE OF THE BEET SALAD!! Argh! We had even debated between two different salads and discussed both with the server and he neglected to inform us that we would get to try the beet salad with the tuna. So, overall... nice place, nice views, delicious food. But, between the heat and being allowed to unknowingly double up on side dishes, it was frustrating. I will probably give them another try but I may wait for cooler weather and will ask a lot of questions when ordering!

I finally got to try the brunch and OMG!! 10/10, the food was good, the mimosas came with different juices that made it so yummy. I will definitely be back.

I have been here several times for brunch and the experience was so special and upscale. Last night my family a party of 3 took my mom out for an early birthday celebration. We originally booked for the penthouse but were denied access due to unavailability (said I should’ve arrived earlier if I wanted to sit there. The service was regular but there was a little delay in service we would be waiting on our server constantly. They brought my sister’s drink out wrong, the food was bland and tasteless. There was no A/C at all and my mom who is prone to seizures and overheating had to request a bag of ice to endure dinner. Wouldn’t you know, after all of that there was no manager who stopped by to check in on us as a courtesy, nothing comped or offered as a sincere apology. So I won’t be going back.
