Award-winning Chef Juan Gomez, who helped República garner best new restaurant nods from Bon Appétit and James Beard, is taking a more personal approach to PNW cuisine. Recently nominated one of the Top 50 Restaurants in the Country by the New York Times, Lilia offers dishes like Pork Collar Confit and fresh Aguachile, leaning on Chef Juan's Mexican-American roots while showcasing hyper-seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. The airy, unpretentious space and breezy patio befit the South Waterfront vibe.

Everything about this place was amazing! Great food, impeccable service including all staff and wonderful drinks/wine pairing. We came for our anniversary and it blew our anniversary dinner at Kaan last year out of the water! I highly recommend!

This restaurant came recommended by our family from Portland. We did the chef’s tasting menu with six courses. The food was wonderful and beautifully plated. We sat at the bar in front of Chef Juan as he finished the plates. He did an amazing job describing the dishes for us. Our favorites were the scallops with broccolini and butter beans, as well as the quesadilla with sweet corn and various cheeses. The strawberry meringue dish was also excellent. They did an excellent job accommodating our dietary restrictions (my wife is pregnant) and modified the menu. I had two great cocktails (my favorite was the corn-soaked whiskey and bourbon cocktail). My wife had a nonalcoholic gin-based drink that was good (though the NA gin lacked the pleasant bitterness I expect). We would love to go again if we get the chance. High praise to the crew here - they run a great restaurant and everyone flowed seamless to give us a great experience.

Pretty food that tastes pretty amazing. We sat at the counter and had the tasting menu. It was all superb. The staff were very kind and attentive. The chef was generous in his explanations. We’ll be back. It was a tad loud for me - middle aged guy with some hearing loss.

Food and drinks were amazing. Service was friendly and I appreciated the recommendations for how much to order because it was definitely enough for two people. We’ll definitely be back.

We did the six course dining option and each dish was amazing. We sat at the counter and had a great time chatting with the bartender (Josh). Overall, a great experience to celebrate a special occasion.

Food was amazing but just know that the testing menu is only for 2 people But if you order each plate of what you would actually want to eat, it’s not that expensive depending on how many in your party.

The tasting experience at the counter was wonderful. The service was excellent and lots of attention to detail for all the dishes. Chef Gomez was personable and very friendly. The flavors and textures of all the dishes were really unique to us. They switch the menu every week depending on the freshest local ingredients. Will definitely try again soon.

My husband & I came here for an early anniversary celebration, & we were blown away by the deliciousness + amount of food we got for the value, as well as the top-notch service! We sat at the counter & got to chat with the bartender, Josh, who truly made us feel like close friends conversing over a meal. Can’t wait to go back!

We opted for the tasting menu at the chef’s counter, and it was a delight to all five senses (hearing: the descriptions of the ingredients in each dish!) Many thanks to Chef Juan Gomez for a beautiful meal of 4 savories and 2 sweets. Everything was fresh and flavorful. I’ll be dreaming of that pollo for a long time! And the strawberries with whipped panna cotta and shattered meringues.
