Lilac is a modern Mediterranean restaurant helmed by Michelin-starred chef and California native, John Fraser. Lilac exclusively offers a 4-course prix fixe menu featuring signature elements of Chef Fraser's mastery of Mediterranean cuisine explored through the lens of Floridian coastal produce. Open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday, the dining room’s walnut flooring and the warm glow from the pendant globes create an elevated, convivial space focused around an eight-seat Christian Liaigre chef’s counter in sandblasted walnut and a lively open kitchen. Taking its cues from Fraser’s Greek heritage and his admiration of Turkish cuisine, Lilac’s balanced menu is a celebration of the chef’s vegetable-forward philosophy using fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients.

Service was excellent, everything else was just good to very good with the exception of environment/setting which was loud.The kitchen does an excellent job accommodating dietary needs.

My husband and I had an absolutely superb dining experience at Lilac. Our server, Jeremy, explained the flavor profile of each dish to help cater the courses to our preferences. The beautiful presentation of each dish was a work of art paired with elevated flavors, like nothing else in Tampa. We will be back!

The service was impeccable. Trinity was amazing. The food presentation was lovely. The taste of the food was good. Not amazing. I’m a foodie and love when flavors meld, pop, surprise me. The best flavor was from the pork belly appetizer. It did not need the octopus, even though it was cooked well. The amount of Wagyu beef in the dish wasn’t worth an extra 35 dollars. I’m not a huge eater so the portion size was more than enough for me but the extra charge was unnecessary in my opinion. Overall the real question is, would I return? Not sure, but the experience was certainly a nice one and the extra effort put forth for my daughter’s 25th was certainly appreciated!

I enjoyed my time, but for the cost, I would expect a little more in the food category. The waitress was amazing. I love the plants. But in the grand scheme, the dining room feels like it is in a lobby of a nice hotel. the intimacy that other comparable restaurants have is lost. I feel like the food quantity or quality should make up for that gap.

Very nice dinner food was excellent. Service was great. Ambience was excellent except for a few loud tables. Having it open to the lobby, made it loud and hectic at times. Not a quiet dinner by all means..

Michelin rating definitely gets reflected in the prices but overall not worth the value.

The food was absolutely fantastic. The ambiance was different. We went for our first anniversary and it did not feel like a high level restaurant as you were separated from the hotel bar by plants. It was noisier than I would expect but you are on the bottom level of a hotel and there are no walls separating you for the lobby area. We went when there was an event at Amalie and the additional cost for valet seems silly since we paid so much for our meal and it’s not public valet (makes zero sense). The food was like no other so we had no complaints about that but not really a place we would go out of our way to go to again. We will try a different Michelin Star restaurant next time.

Hands down one of the best culinary experiences I’ve had. The chef was accommodating and brilliant. Coupled with excellent and attentive staff. Of course the meal was pricey, but that was a known quantity before booking, honestly the experience made it seem of value. The dining room is small, and was tight (back to back with other diners). Also, being a weekend night, the bar noise was quite extensive. Keep that in mind when making plans.

Food was delicious and service was really great. Loved the gluten free and diary free options. I usually have to miss out on a lot of food options because of my restrictions but they were so accommodating and I got to still enjoy every course!
