Lilac is a modern Mediterranean restaurant helmed by Michelin-starred chef and California native, John Fraser. Lilac exclusively offers a 4-course prix fixe menu featuring signature elements of Chef Fraser's mastery of Mediterranean cuisine explored through the lens of Floridian coastal produce. Open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday, the dining room’s walnut flooring and the warm glow from the pendant globes create an elevated, convivial space focused around an eight-seat Christian Liaigre chef’s counter in sandblasted walnut and a lively open kitchen. Taking its cues from Fraser’s Greek heritage and his admiration of Turkish cuisine, Lilac’s balanced menu is a celebration of the chef’s vegetable-forward philosophy using fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients.

Get the rabbit and sole and you won’t regret it. The only negative is the restaurant is beside the bar, which is noisy at times.

My husband and I had a fantastic night at Lilac, celebrating my new job! The staff was so professional and knowledgeable about the menu, and made excellent recommendations. Everything was divine! I couldn't recommend the day boat snapper more highly. The saffron tomato broth served with it was so deliciously complex, I would return for that alone. Of course, the deliciously rich and fluffy souffle was the cherry on top to complete a perfect evening. Highly recommend for any special occasion or celebration!

The menu was all in the same font including apparently when there was an additional charge to the already existing prix fix menu The server did point out the additional charge add on for appetizers but failed to point out the two menu items on the rest of the menu For the value already paying $150 for a 4 course meal (amuse-app-entree-dessert) the additional $30 for two courses I ordered seemed intense for what was presented If there is going to be those additional charges the menu should reflect very clearly maybe in a different font or bolder—- the amuse starter add in was separated form the regular menu I guess that is where the confusion occurred The beef dish for two was also separated on the menu with the additional charge Overall the value was simply not there The service was attentive without being over bearing but could use some finesse for a Michelin recognized establishment For the amount of money spent we could have chosen quite a few different places and will absolutely do just that next time Save yourself the money and sit at the lobby bar Great drinks and bar snacks

Absolutely fantastic. Food was tremendous, the wine paring was impeccable, the service was excellent. 15 top small environment with an open kitchen is also very cool. The only knock against it could possibly be that it's adjacent to a very loud bar. Highly, highly recommended

This place was absolutely stunning. We celebrated my boyfriend's birthday with his family, and every one of us was thoroughly impressed. The food was exceptional, blending traditional flavors with a delightful Mediterranean twist. We will definitely make it a point to return again.

Not worth the hefty price of $150+ pp (prix fixe) when you are dining in a hotel lobby next to a bar. There should have been a dress code, as we were seated facing a man wearing a baseball cap, basketball sneakers, shorts and a T-shirt! Were we in McDonald's??? Disrespectful. Our drink order took a good 15 minutes to arrive. The food was tasty for the most part, but not outstanding or worthy of the price. The portions were quite tiny and a grown man will leave hungry. If you wanted a filet mignon, pasta, Dover sole, etc. there was an upcharge of $30+ The lamb dish was presented with two small chops and some garnish. We ordered a side of potatoes and that was another $18. We had the Truffle pasta (additional $35) which was excellent, the Salmon (overcooked and small) and the Dover Sole (for an additional $30/$35) that was very good. We averaged over $300 p.p. (without even a bottle of wine). Prepare to leave hungry and unimpressed. There is better food to be had in Tampa. Spare yourselves. May I add that we don't mind spending the money, but it should be worth it. This wasn't. We had dinner at Ponte the night before and it was outstanding from start to finish.

I first signed here because I heard the chef had earned the Michelin star. He deserves at least two. This restaurant has the most fabulous food in the area. It’s one of my favorite restaurants on the entire East Coast. Everything is so creative. There are fantastic combinations of flavors and ingredients. The staff is also exceptionally welcoming and friendly. This is a must try experience in Tampa for dining.

Our meal was absolutely worthy of the Michelin star that the restaurant was awarded. In addition, our server Jeremy may well have been the single best server we have ever had and my wife and I have been blessed to travel the world and to eat in many highly regarded restaurants!
