Located in the historic district, Lewes Oyster House honors the rich heritage of ubiquitous and democratic oyster consumption in 18th and 19th century Middle Atlantic taverns and oyster houses. We serve inspired tavern fare, expertly prepared with fresh, regionally-sourced ingredients along with crisp lagers, interesting wines, and artisanal cocktails. All that, and a whole lot of love.

Please join us for lunch Tuesdays through Saturdays in the Tap Room, Oyster Bar or Main Bar. We do not accept reservations for lunch.

Walk-ins for dinner are always welcome first-come first-served at the Oyster and Main bar areas, all evening long beginning at 5 p.m.

Online reservations for dinner are VERY STRONGLY RECOMMENDED for the Walsh Room and Tap Room.

Bay scallop appetizer very good. Oyster sampler good. Clams and linguine; okay. Mail course scallop dish good. Cosmo martini to start; very tiny glass and certainly not a martini glass. Wine list very good.

We always look forward to dining at LOH every time we come to the beach. Unfortunately, like most restaurants that are excellent in the first year or two, they start going downhill, getting sloppy. I hope it’s not the case with Lewes Oyster House because it used to be stellar! We started with scallops ceviche, which was served with an ice cream that, by the time it got to our table, was mostly melted in a soupy puddle my husband didn’t care for… more for me! Well, I would’ve skipped the ice cream altogether, since it ruins the integrity of the dish when melted. Then, my husband had their burger, which used to be “the best he ever had”. This time it was overcooked, slightly burned and… bitter? Disappointing, in a nutshell. I ordered the scallops, which had a good flavor, and were very small, maybe a U15 size- not enough for an entree… We’ll probably try it another time, since this was the Saturday after July 4th, around 9:30PM, and I’m guessing the staff was tired. However, I think they shouldn’t be offering late reservation times if they can’t deliver up to their standards.

Food is always special. Service is excellent. Seating near bar was loud. Bar patrons were loud. LOH is our go to place. We love it.

Lewes Oyster House is hands down the best restaurant in Lewes, we have been there many times the customer service is top notch and the food is always excellent and fresh, we could eat there 7 Days a week...lol If you never been you are missing out big time !!!!

Oysters Rockefeller were delish. Rock fish was very good. Busy place but James our server was excellent always checking back with all his customers and just a delight to talk to.

We will never go back. The hostesses were incredibly rude, the food was terrible and we tried several - appetizers, salads, specials and entrees - items. The flavor mixtures were not good, oysters lousy, fish dry, even the bread and butter was odd. If you like Henlopen Oyster House in Rehoboth - you will be very disappointed by Lewes Oyster House. Save your money, taste buds, calories and time - and just go to Henlopen in Rehoboth.

Chelsea was an excellent waitress. She had great recommendations. Our food and wine was excellent and unique. The only disappointment was a young woman at the bar who was extremely loud and swearing. She seemed to know the bartender, who should have asked her to keep it down.
