L'Escargot is London's oldest and most celebrated French restaurant serving classic French provincial dishes. It also has a great cocktail bar with reasonably priced cocktails and all day dining. Upstairs in the cocktail Bar there are live music acts every weekend.

The restaurant has welcomed luminaries such as Coco Chanel, Charles de Gaulle, Maurice Chevalier, Laurence Olivier, Lucien Freud and Francis Bacon. Princess Diana was a regular and to this day the restaurant is the home of many celebrated personalities.

It is located close to all the major West-End theatres, which makes it an excellent pre and post theatre dining spot.

A marvellous meal the Navarin of lamb was exceptional! And the chocolate soufflé to due for. The service wonderfully friendly, just sad that the restaurant was not as busy as it could be. It is also very good value for money! I would highly recommend it!

Having been long on our to do list we finally made it. From the welcome on arrival to goodbye on departure the staff were tremendous. Food well we didn't leave much but did not manage dessert however as we plan to return we will save some room.

Been coming here for years, it’s our go to restaurant in Soho as you know you will always get excellent quality food with great service at reasonable prices.

A really lovely meal in an oasis of calm and excellence amid the hurly burly of Soho. We had escargots and lobster salad to start, followed by the confit of duck and the trout, with spinach, green beans and dauphinoise. All was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was very helpful, friendly and efficient. We shared a most unusual and special dessert: spaghettieis from Baden Wurtemburg which was a treat. While the background music was ok (and importantly not too loud) we question whether it added anything or perhaps even slightly distracted from the anyway very pleasant ambience

This restaurant is VERY good! If you want The BEST service, delicious food, beautiful surrounding, then L' Escargot is a must visit. I dine here often, but emailed ahead to say I was bringing guests for the first time. The owner of the restaurant came to our table to introduce himself and to check that all was ok. You don't get service like that anywhere, anymore , except for L' Escargot. Whether it be a lunch, a quick bite before the theatre, delicious dinner, or special occasion, you can do it all here. It truly is an all round most pleasurable experience. I cannot recommend it highly enough Well done L' Escargot - again !

The pris fixe menu is excellent value. The tables at the rear of the restaurant are preferable. On my last visit there was a rather raucous group who spoiled my enjoyment.
