L'Escargot is London's oldest and most celebrated French restaurant serving classic French provincial dishes. It also has a great cocktail bar with reasonably priced cocktails and all day dining. Upstairs in the cocktail Bar there are live music acts every weekend.

The restaurant has welcomed luminaries such as Coco Chanel, Charles de Gaulle, Maurice Chevalier, Laurence Olivier, Lucien Freud and Francis Bacon. Princess Diana was a regular and to this day the restaurant is the home of many celebrated personalities.

It is located close to all the major West-End theatres, which makes it an excellent pre and post theatre dining spot.

Food was great and the rooms very cozy and nicely decorated. However it took nearly 10 minutes after our mains were brought, for the sides to arrive. By then, food was cold.

The food was nice but expensive. The tables are to close to eachother as you can hear the conversations.

If you only eat at ONE restaurant in SoHo… it should be at L’Escargot! This place is perfect!!

This is truly one of my favourite London restaurants and I’ve eaten at hundreds of them. I live nearby and have been coming for 20 years. The food is first class, the service is first class and the atmosphere is always chilled. Its classy, Upbeat and great value-thank you for a lovely birthday lunch!

Great atmosphere and David made a great experience for us.. amazing time and great food; onion soup, risotto and sausage is very well recommended!

Delicious French cuisine served in an elegant decor. The waitresses were attentive without being intrusive. We had a delightful lunch.

Excellent food accompanied by great service. Only disappointment was there was no grouse available and I booked specifically for that after it was advertised. However, I had partridge instead and cooked the same way as grouse and it was nice. The maitre'd made it up to me with a nice gesture for my disappointment.
