Leo’s was first opened in 1948 by Italian immigrants Pantaleone (Leo) Mancieri and his wife Virginia (Nonni). Established mainly as a pizzeria in the State Street section of Bristol, the restaurant quickly gained a local following and served as a popular lunch destination for workers and families alike. Leo and Virginia, along with sons Mario and Reno, worked tirelessly to produce great fresh Italian favorites and create a friendly environment for their customers.
The original Leo’s remained open until 1976 when the family decided to close after Leo passes away, and in the year 2000 Leo’s grandson, Paul Mancieri, relocated to 365 Hope Street in the heart of historic downtown Bristol. Paul and his wife Adriana pride themselves on bringing back the spirit and the recipes of the pizzeria ran by Leo and Nonni. Welcome to Leo’s Ristorante! Enjoy our family recipes, preserved for three generations and plated with care and love by Paul, Adriana and their staff.

Food was nothing special. We asked to change the sauce in our meal due to dietary restrictions, and we were charged $3 dollars for one meal, and $3.50 for the other meal which is quite annoying… waiter didn’t warn about additional cost either.

My wife and I went for Valentine’s Day, and the experience was excellent. The food was outstanding, and they were very accommodating to her gluten allergy. The service was also great—our server frequently checked in to ensure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be returning!

Food is excellent, great friendly service and the atmosphere is quaint. Every time I’ve been to Leo’s the experience is always the same and is what keeps me returning.

This was one of many visits to Leos. As always, everything was excellent, service, food and drinks. We were a party of three and each chose a different entree; lobster ravioli, veal parmesan with penne and one of the specials, braised beef with mashed potatoes and asparagus and all were delicious. Looking forward to our next visit!

Second time there. Drove over an hour and it’s worth it. Cozy vibe, good food, old school ambiance, excellent service.

It was very disappointing. My husband ordered veal brachiole. Which is rolled with cheese or a different meat. His came as a round looking meatball with nothing inside. I ordered the Lobster special with angel hair pasta and shrimp. The lobster was rubbery and only 3 shrimp. My husband also ordered a dry martini with the house vodka. They billed us for Grey Goose. The service was under par. The gentleman who was our server was never around. We asked for bread when we first sat down. He said it takes awhile. Ok I get that. By the time our meals came after the appetizers. I asked for bread again. He said I guess I can bring you some slices. He never brought the grated cheese we asked for. Our glasses of wine never came. My husband had to go and get our wine and the cheese after 20 mins. The experience at Leo’s was just disappointing. We will not be going back.
