Leo’s was first opened in 1948 by Italian immigrants Pantaleone (Leo) Mancieri and his wife Virginia (Nonni). Established mainly as a pizzeria in the State Street section of Bristol, the restaurant quickly gained a local following and served as a popular lunch destination for workers and families alike. Leo and Virginia, along with sons Mario and Reno, worked tirelessly to produce great fresh Italian favorites and create a friendly environment for their customers.
The original Leo’s remained open until 1976 when the family decided to close after Leo passes away, and in the year 2000 Leo’s grandson, Paul Mancieri, relocated to 365 Hope Street in the heart of historic downtown Bristol. Paul and his wife Adriana pride themselves on bringing back the spirit and the recipes of the pizzeria ran by Leo and Nonni. Welcome to Leo’s Ristorante! Enjoy our family recipes, preserved for three generations and plated with care and love by Paul, Adriana and their staff.

He food is outstanding … an Italian cook knows good Italian food in a restaurant. Everything was delicious. The cocktails were ok and the back room could definitely use an upgrade AC looked broken with parts hanging off and the walls could use clean in and fresh coat of paint. However, the food is so delicious that ambiance and decor is dismissed s soon as you take a bite.

The hostess forgot to tell our server so we sat for 15 minutes before we asked her. We were seated in the back of the house, so it was very loud lots of stuff discussing things arguing basically horrible. Will never go back.

We apologize again for the inconvenience caused by our mistake assigning the server to your table. It was a very busy night but that in no way justifies making you wait, and that's why we immediately made an effort to expedite the service from the moment you brought up the issue. We also appreciate the feedback about the location of the table, as we expressed yesterday, and we have made the decision of not having that table open for reservations any more.

Leo’s Ristorante has great pasta and sea food. The service is very good and the atmosphere is quite pleasant. I would definitely recommend it for anyone who is looking for a restaurant with a diverse menu and good prices.

The staff was very friendly and professional. And the food was excellent as usual! We had chicken parm, veal parm, pizza and salads. We will be back!!

Service was great the food fresh and the gravy was excellent. Had the lobster and shrimp Fra Diavolo amazing.

We have been to Leo's may times and enjoy the food except maybe on an occasion they were off and that is with any restaurant and not their normal, but its usually very good, the service is usually good too. Last night we went before the fireworks and I was surprised they were not overly busy. We were seated outside like as we requested in our reservation, the hostess was great and friendly. Our server (young man, don't know his name) barely spoke, was very slow, we never were told the specials, after we ordered I heard the awesome server (his name was Dino) at the table next to us offer the specials to his table, there were a couple I was very interested in but because our server never even mentioned specials to us we did not know they existed. When our server brought my husbands drink over he did not even bring a straw, I asked him for one and he acted surprised. Then for our dinner we never were offered cracked pepper or grated cheese which Dino the other server was offering to his table...we always take advantage of the grated cheese when at Leo's, guess not tonight. At the end he asked do you want me to leave your check then added or a dessert menu like we were being rushed? We love the Tiramisu here, at least upsell your dessert and after dinner drinks before offering to toss the check on the table. We also sat down to no silverware or napkins and did not get them until our apps arrived while the great server at the table next to us immediately upon arrival to greet his guests had silverware & napkins ready. Maybe our server was new but these are basics and specials are very important and we always get servers at Leo's that offer them to us. The food was excellent, the drinks were also great, and yes while it was the 3rd in Bristol it was not busy there were empty tables and that should be your staffs night to shine with all out of town visitors. I myself am local and will eat there again we will just request a different server if this one is still there.

The food was very good, but slow, even though there were only 4 parties in the restaurant at a late lunch on a Tuesday. There was one waitress, and she left bread and butter without giving us any napkins or utensils. It took awhile to find her again and then she was slow bringing the utensils. The A/C was also not working very well in the 85-degree heat ,and she told us the A/C unit near us was working, when clearly it wasn't. There are clearly issues with the restaurant.

Food was pretty good and the outdoor dining area is very nice. Portions are below average in size for a traditional Italian restaurant. Service was really bad. I do think we got a server in training.. didn't bring us bread, didn't tell us about specials, had to run inside to let them know we needed more dressing for a salad, and sat for about 15 minutes waiting for the check.

A local favorite. My family finds here often as it is a great family establishment. The cheesy bread is a favorite appetizer and is simply delicious. Love the antipasto as well
