Leo’s was first opened in 1948 by Italian immigrants Pantaleone (Leo) Mancieri and his wife Virginia (Nonni). Established mainly as a pizzeria in the State Street section of Bristol, the restaurant quickly gained a local following and served as a popular lunch destination for workers and families alike. Leo and Virginia, along with sons Mario and Reno, worked tirelessly to produce great fresh Italian favorites and create a friendly environment for their customers.
The original Leo’s remained open until 1976 when the family decided to close after Leo passes away, and in the year 2000 Leo’s grandson, Paul Mancieri, relocated to 365 Hope Street in the heart of historic downtown Bristol. Paul and his wife Adriana pride themselves on bringing back the spirit and the recipes of the pizzeria ran by Leo and Nonni. Welcome to Leo’s Ristorante! Enjoy our family recipes, preserved for three generations and plated with care and love by Paul, Adriana and their staff.

A late lunch after a trip to Blithewold gardens in Bristol and Leo’s sounded interesting. Greeting, service and food were excellent. Welcoming and comfortable. Will definitely add to our list whenever we return to Bristol!

Both waiter and chef confused eggplant parmigiana and veal parmigiana. When we began eating and discovered they’d been confused we sent them back. Instead of fresh new dishes, untouched, by anyone, they removed cut portions and added more hot pasta sauce.

My husband and I visited Leo's for the first time on 8/10/24 and dined inside. There was some inconsistency with service. Our server did not offer the nightly specials to us or a glass for my husband's beverage, which other nearby tables received. The food was OK but my tortellini was over-cooked.

Dining tonight at Leo’s was the perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal with family members. Service was great, food absolutely delicious and plentiful. The chicken Parmesan and veal Parmesan were cooked to perfection!!! Definitely a return visit in the future!!

He food is outstanding … an Italian cook knows good Italian food in a restaurant. Everything was delicious. The cocktails were ok and the back room could definitely use an upgrade AC looked broken with parts hanging off and the walls could use clean in and fresh coat of paint. However, the food is so delicious that ambiance and decor is dismissed s soon as you take a bite.

The hostess forgot to tell our server so we sat for 15 minutes before we asked her. We were seated in the back of the house, so it was very loud lots of stuff discussing things arguing basically horrible. Will never go back.

We apologize again for the inconvenience caused by our mistake assigning the server to your table. It was a very busy night but that in no way justifies making you wait, and that's why we immediately made an effort to expedite the service from the moment you brought up the issue. We also appreciate the feedback about the location of the table, as we expressed yesterday, and we have made the decision of not having that table open for reservations any more.

Leo’s Ristorante has great pasta and sea food. The service is very good and the atmosphere is quite pleasant. I would definitely recommend it for anyone who is looking for a restaurant with a diverse menu and good prices.
