We’re buzzing with excitement to once again be participating in the City of Toronto’s Summerlicious celebration, offering a $41 lunch and $55 dinner prix fixe from July 5 to 21. Enjoy a vibrant South American inspired menu featuring an array of light and bright summer dishes with Spanish and Italian influences. From Heirloom Tomato Salad to Roast Pork Shoulder Sandwich and delicious Beef Albóndigas, we have plenty of crowd-pleasing options to suit all tastes!

This was my first visit to Lena, and the restaurant is quite beautiful! I was able to secure a reservation one week ahead with ease, at exactly the right time slot to accommodate our theatre visit. We were greeted warmly and efficiently, and seated near the kitchen, which was actually kind of interesting. The room was noisy enough for me to strain to hear my friend across the table, but we didn’t have to yell. I might ask for a quieter seat next time. We ordered from the Summerlicious menu. I found the $55 set price a bit high for a modest menu and reasonably small portions. I chose the bean salad with crab as the appetizer and the chimichurri steak & frites for an entree, with the coconut/pineapple cake as a dessert. The best part of the meal was the steak…it was amazingly tender and flavourful! The fries were wildly overseasoned, which I reported to our server, and I couldn’t finish them. The bean salad was delicious, but I didn’t enjoy the cold crab/smoked ricotta quenelle sitting on top. Could just be my palate, but it was oddly flavoured (I think the server reported paprika and tarragon as the main seasonings), textured (mushy), and cold (I should have asked, but expected a warm salad). The dessert was fine, but needed a sauce to pull the flavours together a bit more. Service was quick, efficient, and friendly. I’ll definitely be returning, but not for Summerlicious…I want more variety in the menu!

I have to believe that nothing was served as it should be. It was a really bad experience. What a shame.

Good consistent quality food. The only criticism was the jamon dish was a bit puzzling, a small plate of weird irregular slices of meat. Was tasty but strange presentation and not sure it was worth the $25…

Incredible experience, as always at Leña! Our server Raoul was delightful and perceptive, the chef Doug Penfold is as lovely as his incredible food and the GM Erica made sure everything was perfect which included greeting us at the door! What a badass. And it was lovely to see Mark again in a new role. Leña hit it out of the park. Thank you everyone!!

4 of us went here for dinner before a concert. They are having a preview pricefix menu for a new restaurant, Ceci's, opening soon. Our initial impression of Lena was good, but was soon to be diminished. 3 of us decided against the price fix menu, but I went for it as I am a huge fan of Mexican/Spanish cuisine. The server told me that the did not have the dessert, so they could not honor the price fix, and that I'd have to pay for each item a la carte, which would be substantially more money. She then came back and advised that they do have it and can offer it, so we carried on. Some food came out fairly quickly, but it was timed rather poorly for the courses. I received the initial app, followed by the dish that was to be served before dessert. The 2 that should have been served were missed completely. The server came to ask if I had received them and did apologize for the confusion in the kitchen. Mildly frustrated, but moreso just disappointed. Everyone was finished, I rcvd the other two and we ended up feeling rushed to get to the concert. Most importantly, the food. Again also a big let down. Rather sub par. I maybe had high expectations, but it really was not very flavorful as I am so used to at other popular Spanish food establishments, and the portions were quite minimal for the cost. The ceviche was bland with the odd burst of vinegarette, 'the' taco was dry and had minimal toppings, and was just chewy. I likely won't return, or attend the new restaurant Ceci, unless I was to hear that they have made substantial improvements.
