Compared to other Legal Sea Food locations I've visited, this was moderately okay. Nothing really special for decor, although location in an upscale mall was a plus. The food was good. Calamari was delicious & properly prepared. The salt encrusted cod was very nice. Lobsters ordered were acceptable but nothing special. However steak was not cooked to order. Service was lacking. The server, Dylan, was unexceptional and his service was poor. He was not attentive, and made rare returns to the table to check on dinner. He failed to confirm the party’s order once given. One party ordered a NY strip, and requested a side of fries. He even asked how they wanted it cooked. When the food was delivered, he delivered a tuna dish. He was informed this was incorrect, seemed surprised, but said they would correct it asap. It did take awhile for the steak to come out, but was undercooked. Another party’s side was forgotten; they also forgot to bring nutcrackers for both who ordered lobsters. He also forget the side of fries with the steak order. He did not return until well after it was delivered to check if everything was okay. He rarely returned to check on us or see if we needed something else, especially refills for drinks. Other staff would clear some plates of appetizers but leave some that were clearly finished. The restaurant was NOT busy at all. Staff was walking around doing some tasks, but did not seem too attentive to patrons. In light of the mistake on our order, it would have been nice for management to stop by & make sure everything was okay and perhaps offer an apology on the mistake. Also- we indicated we visited for a birthday and no mention of it was made, even a congratulations. Idk if I would make the trip to come here again. I’d opt for other locations. I have been to numerous Legal Sea Food locations, and have had better outcomes. Still none compares to the Boston Long Wharf location. We’ve visited there many times.

Hoisin salmon was flavorless….It was overcooked and accompaniments were bland as well.

This is one of our staples when Short Hills shopping. It has gotten pretty pricey, but the quality makes it worth it. The server was on point and had a good attitude. It was a little chilly sitting under a vent, but overall still consistent.

So sad. I have food allergies and always look forward to the mashed SWEET potatoes. Put them Back on the Menu!!!!

The crab cake appetizer portion was good. However, in the past, you got more food choices on the lunch menu with the single crab cake. You had to ask for rolls and extra lemon and sugar for the iced tea. The server took awhile to bring those items. Although the restaurant has been newly designed and is attractive , the bathroom was not fully updated and the stalls are not clean. The stainless steel doors are always dirty along with the floor. They need to address these areas.

I’m sad to report this meal did not live up to the normal service we are used to at Legal Seafood. We pay a premium to dine here and expect excellent food and service. Our server was super slow. The bread actually came after the appetizers were served. In fact my daughter received her gluten free bread before we got the regular bread. Appetizer of calamari and mussels were great and as expected. My daughter and my first choice entrees were sold out which was disappointing. I can understand the lobster special being sold out but the fried chicken? Then she chose a sushi roll which was way over sauced. I chose a sushi bowl which I just didn’t care for but that’s on me. To make matters worse my daughter and I were both served the incorrect entree so we did not actually eat at the same time. My husband enjoyed his linguini and clams. At the end we were comped dessert. It would have been nice if a manager paid a visit. We will try again as they do have great GF options for my daughter.

As a rewards member, I received an email about a $18 lobster special in regard to the Celtics winning their 18th title. It was available at all locations except those at an airport. It was 5:45 and the place was mostly empty. When I ordered my waiter hesitated and then said they were already sold out. I have been to this location for lunch in the past. There is no way they had such a large lunch crowd to have sold out. If the restaurant was not prepared for this promotion, he should of just said so. Lying turned us off. We paid for my wife's drink and we left.
