Legal Sea Foods started as a fish market in Cambridge Massachusetts in 1950, growing to over 26 restaurants today! Legal Sea Foods is an East Coast landmark, a favorite with locals and a must visit for tourists. With our own production facility and an innovative eCommerce platform, over the past 70 years we have established ourselves as a core pillar of the New England seafood scene. Famous for raising the bar in seafood quality and safety, Legal Sea Foods combines New England's coastal fishing traditions with modern culinary flair. Another excellent lunch. Great service at the bar. Delicious food served promptly and properly. Highly recommend.

Poor service, poor food. Long wait even with the reservation. Double check with your waiter what you ordered. Don’t order lobster rolls, stuffed lobster, lobster bisque soup or white fish!!! . Huge disappointment. The evening was spoiled. NOT coming back!

Loved the seating along the river. Took a while for us to get a waiter. Clam chowder was amazing. Rest of the food was ok. They ran out of lemon, beurre blanc sauce (how do you run out of that?). Was told kitchen put it on the fish which was not true. Was not given other options. Cole slaw needed something maybe a bit more more sweetness.

The ambiance and service were great but the lobster was as lackluster as you could get and their house specialty, the crab cake meal, was unseasoned and bland. I have made better in my kitchen. The price, which admittedly is inflated because of the setting, doen't justify the poor food quality.

We only had oysters. Reservation was at 5:15. We were seated promptly. Waited 20 minutes for a server and an HOUR for oysters. Only half our order came out, but luckily, the other half came out a few minutes after we asked. Oysters still had shell bits in them. Ambiance was nice. Server was friendly.

I was rather surprised by my visit. Our server was very nice but it seemed that no one was prepared for guest. We had several employees walk by our dish laded table without an effort to clear it. Food was delivered in the wrong order and many other issues.

It was a weird experience, service was unprofessional. Food was okay. I have been to their restaurant in Boston, this is why I went here in Chicago. Drinks were not Good. I live in the building. I will not be back sorry to say.

We enjoy the great ingredients and preps at Legal Seafoods on our travels. Now wonderful to have them close along the Riverwalk in Chicago. View and seemless flow between in and out are fantastic. Carla was super friendly and knew the offerings well. Only glitch was some timing of items — but we did arrive for a 10 pm seating after seeing a play — so not a complaint, just an observation that flow does help a meal. We will definitely make this a short list member for us as “neighbors” and especially for visitors to Chicago.

It’s right along side the Chicago River at Marina Towers Plaza level. It has outdoor and indoor seating. Service was excellent. Food was good. Ambience is excellent.
