Situated in The Castle Hotel, Leaf is right in the heart of historic Windsor offering casual dining which combines classic British and modern European flavours. Steeped in history and with regal connections, Leaf is the perfect spot for brunch, a leisurely lunch, a delicious afternoon tea and a decadent dinner.

Executive Head Chef Suraj Lokhande works closely with independent suppliers to bring the best flavours to the dishes. The menus include comforting classics, vegan options and British artisan cheeses paired with local beers from Windsor & Eton Brewery. The alfresco terrace is a city oasis which is ideal for dining in the warmer months and enjoying a tipple or two after a day’s sightseeing.

Outstanding birthday tea for my partner! Food was excellent, especially the scones and selection of sandwiches and cakes. The service was outstanding with the staff being friendly and helpful. We ordered the Royal tea at £40 per head; Although expensive it was worth every penny!

It was fantastic, food was really good. If I have any complain it could be that we ordered dishes to share and they didn’t give us any plate to eat on. In another hand Kamil, the one who took the orders was really nice!

Fantastic food and great service. Very accommodating with dietary requirements with a great range of different choices. The afternoon tea is good value and well presented.

Food was ok but nothing exceptional. Service was hit and miss. Waited 25 minutes before anyone came to ask us if we wanted a drink. Main course came out before the starter!!

Arrived to an empty dining room and given a choice of tables which was excellent. My preference is always for corner inward looking seating but this was not in the arrangement. The waiter was welcoming, professional and extremely engaging. Three menus were offered one of which was far too large in size and difficult to handle! Warm bread was served followed by a disappointing duck bon bon which had no duck but lots of potato. A good Caesar salad and ham hock terrine was followed by a freshly cooked and hot chicken supreme. Sadly my partner's fish cake was disappointing since to appeared not to be fresh or even home made and tasted as such. A replacement order of chicken was swiftly handled. It was a shame our waiter disappeared during the service meaning a lack of continuity but returned with the final bill from which he removed the service charge completely unprompted which was a super gesture.

Considering we were 1 of 2 tables, service was a bit slow and had to ask everyone we wanted something, but once it had all arrived it was amazing. Food was beautiful, sweets were to die for, scones were still warm and my auntie and myself thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Can’t wait to go again.

Our birthday afternoon tea experience was the best one thus far. The staff were very attentive and the selection of food was excellent.

It was spoiled by being in the same room as a party of 6 - 7 women and their out of control children. There were no staff around when we wanted to pay and get out. To have a big chunk added to the bill at the end for “service” was the final insult. Having booked in advance, we could have been offered the other room, but we weren’t. The food and drink was good, but to pay so much for such a grim experience was not good.

Very pretty restaurant, helpful friendly staff. Good choice of food. Food was delicious, well cooked and perfect. Great vegetarian and vegan options not the standard curry but several good thoughtful options. Great for kids too. We will definitely visit again when we are in Windsor.
