Situated in The Castle Hotel, Leaf is right in the heart of historic Windsor offering casual dining which combines classic British and modern European flavours. Steeped in history and with regal connections, Leaf is the perfect spot for brunch, a leisurely lunch, a delicious afternoon tea and a decadent dinner.

Executive Head Chef Suraj Lokhande works closely with independent suppliers to bring the best flavours to the dishes. The menus include comforting classics, vegan options and British artisan cheeses paired with local beers from Windsor & Eton Brewery. The alfresco terrace is a city oasis which is ideal for dining in the warmer months and enjoying a tipple or two after a day’s sightseeing.

Offering one of the best afternoon teas in Windsor, the talented team have developed a stunning Royal afternoon tea featuring freshly baked scones with clotted cream, sumptuous sandwiches and an array of delicious patisserie, paired with traditional tea blends from Darvilles of Windsor.

Staff were excellent - though it did take a while for the food to come arrived for reservation 5 minutes early and food not with us until 36 minutes past the reservation time. All staff were lovely though - so we had a great time.

Really wanted to try this restaurant and had high expectations. We found the menu to be very limited and uninspiring. We all struggled to select a main dish and opted for a few starters instead. They were ok but nothing special. My friend had the calamari but said it wasn’t very nice. Looked to order desserts, but again struggled with the choices, so gave it a miss. We found it to be overpriced, slow service and lacking in atmosphere. There are much nicer restaurants in Windsor. We wouldn’t return.

Excellent afternoon tea to celebrate husband’s 60th birthday. Delicious selection of both savoury and sweet treats, exquisitely presented with very attentive staff.

A lovely atmosphere for afternoon tea. We may have caught them on a bad day, but service was particularly slow.

Great English breakfast and they let us check our luggage so we could wander on Windsor on our way to Heathrow, which was also amazing

This afternoon tea is way over priced for what it is. The food felt like it was days old we had to ask for fresh sandwiches. You are put next to someone with barely any room even though there is room elsewhere to sit. Felt imposed on privacy and your time there. I guess you pay for being near the castle but you definitely can’t see the castle from afternoon tea. We thought we would be in leaf restaurant but we weren’t so didn’t get the view we hoped for. £80 for 2 people for stale afternoon tea. Definitely do not recommend!

We had a reservation, arrived on time, and had to wait 15+ minutes to be seated because there was no one at the desk. We eventually walked around until we found someone to ask and they sent someone out to seat us. We had read that there was a view of Windsor Castle, but this was not the case from where we were seated. The food was just ok and very overpriced. After we got our food, no one ever came back to check on us and we ended up have to flag someone down when we wanted to pay. Not a great experience and definitely would have skipped it had we known.
