L'histoire du Yaca a commencé en 1964 à Courchevel, un petit village de campagne dans les Alpes françaises. Danièle et Gérard Bourderau ont trouvé l'idée amusante d'ouvrir un petit restaurant. À l’annonce de leur projet, tous leurs amis ont dit aux restaurateurs plein d'espoir que personne ne conduirait jamais 8 kilomètres sur une route sinueuse glacée pour souper. Danièle et Gérard hésitèrent pendant 3 mois, puis ont décidé : « yaca le faire », une contraction de l'expression française « il n’y a qu’à le faire », qui signifie « faisons-le ». Par plaisanterie, ils ont appelé le restaurant Le Yaca. Mais le nom est devenu populaire avec les clients, qui ont été amusé par le jeu de mots et ont contribué à la tradition du restaurant en inventant des « Yaca-ismes » eux-même : « yaca y aller » (allons-y). Danièle est venue aux États-Unis et a ouvert Le Yaca à Williamsburg. Daniel Abid a acheté le restaurant en 2001. Daniel a travaillé et a été formé dans des lieux prestigieux comme Le Pré Catelan et Lenôtre à Paris, à L'Amandier, chez Roger Vergé et pour couronner le tout chez Alain Ducasse.

    Hello. I'm a sixty two year old guy that took his seven year younger wife lol out for our ninth wedding anniversary. We had been at this place once before, before covid. I'm glad to see they made it thru. I believe it to be tied for second place to where I would take my wife to when I need to impress upon her how much she means to me. We're old school in a sense that I like to see a dress on her and myself in at least a sport jacket or blazer. You will blend in with that on here . Plenty of room between tables to whisper I love you. I believe a real wood oven in the winter ? Manager and staff got it down pat. Food is well... French. Elegant, rich in taste, sauces out of this world, accompaniments chosen wisely, presentation is like artwork. We started with the crab filled crepe= 5 star. I then had the veal with lemons and capers= 5 stars. The cleaned little lemon segments were a brilliant fresh ingredient. My wife had the Scottish salmon which was 5 star. To finish I had the chocolate truffle cake and Moscato sorbet she had the souffle au grand mariner. All worthy of a return trip

    Excellent as usual. Perfect way to celebrate a special birthday. Minh is such a great server and food is always superb!

    Absolutely superb - it was our #1 favorite restaurant 30 years ago when we lived in Yorktown. I didn't expect it to be even better, but it is flawless in all respects.

    Truly, one of the best restaurants in the Commonwealth of Virginia! Just amazing food! And the service and ambience is outstanding! I celebrated my 66th birthday with friends here today, and it will be a lasting memory! I recommend Le Yaca to everyone!

    We started coming to le Yuca ... I-kid-u-not… 30 years ago when it was at a different location, it was expensive and fabulous (we were poor students): Now it is still fabulous but also and great value. I rarely give a near perfect rating but Le Yuca merits it for quality, service and consistency. And, a few on staff have been there for decades, our experienced waiter knew exactly when to see us and when to leave us alone. A great meal all around!

    Arriving a few minutes before our reservation and told our table wouldn't be ready for 5mins, we asked to go to the bar. Once there, the bartender made a delicious martini for my husband and I ordred a glass of wine. By the time we were seated at our table, 15mins late, I still had not received my wine. It took way too long for our waiter to come to the table and after telling him about my ordered wine it took nearly 15 more minutes before I had a glass of wine. For a "fine" restaurant, this kind of service is unacceptable. No apologies were made. We will not be returning and do not recommend this restaurant.
