Le Pigeon sert une cuisine d’inspiration française audacieuse accompagnée d'un grand choix de vins dans une salle à manger intime, dans la rue East Burnside Street de Portland. This is one of the best tasting menus I’ve had in a long time. The service, the food and the ambience all knocked it out of the park.

I have been to this restaurant many times over the course of last 20 years and I have to say this was one of my favorite places for creative food and good service. Unfortunately during my last visit to this place I noticed that the quality of service and food have significantly declined. The waiters are not attentive and the service was very sluggish.

Exceptional service with gracious detailed descriptions of the perfectly paced courses. Wine pairings were fun, touching both new and unusual varietals as well as iconic favorites.

Food was a symphony of delicious taste. If I had to choose I’d say the vegetarian menu was more of a medley of flavors, the winner, but everything was fantastic, the wine was a hit, the staff was informative fun and friendly! Wish I had anything similar in my area. Highly recommend if you have $600 sitting around and love balanced unique seasons.

All in all, it was fine. Tough pierogi. (I hear from scuttlebutt they're going to work with the chef on this.) They need to work on timing courses, and wine service for pairings. They were okay with me boxing up a portion of each course to pass along to a curious eater. It's fun to chat with the staff at the counter.

Excellent dining experience. We both did the omnivore tasting menu with wine pairing and added the supplemental course + wine pairing for that. Each dish and wine came with a great explanation of the dish and sitting up at the chef’s counter watching the chefs work around each other cooking and plating dishes was a great experience. We were there about 2.5 hours. We had an 8:45PM reservation so I was a little concerned about getting cut short/rushed out, but that was not the case at all. Everything was truly excellent, a symphony of flavors and it seemed like each dish was better than the last. We both left saying we’d go back in a heartbeat once the menu has turned over.
