At Le Papagayo Carlsbad Village you can expect live music nightly blended with the best in Coastal/Mediterranean/New American food and cocktails. With a full bar and service from 8am-10pm nightly you'll have ample opportunity to enjoy the newest addition to Carlsbad Village. Located conveniently off Carlsbad Village Dr. we are a short walk from State St and just off the freeway for easy access from either direction. We have a large public parking lot directly in front of the restaurant along with assigned parking off to the north end. We have loved this place for years… and got back to the area and so happy to see things hadn’t changed. The menu is so diverse and has something for everyone-we had kids with us between the kids meals, bread basket and short rib stroganoff… there was not a single complaint (which is rare for my crew). Hope this location never leaves! Also the hostess even called when we booked to let us know our reservation time was cutting it close to when their kitchen closed so we knew to order quickly upon arrival.

The gluten free pesto flat bread was so good. Also highly recommend the truffle fries!

Very disappointed. Made a reservation and requested a table in the dining room. Seated at a tiny table in the bar. Requested a different table, told they couldn't do it. Took forever to get my cocktail. Noisy - which is ok if you want to be in the bar, watching a game, but not if you're there for a comfortable dinner.

Extremely disappointed in this restaurant. We went at 5:30 to beat the rush. Restaurant was not full. Waitress was not friendly, didn’t know anything about the drinks which took forever to receive. With 5 people 2 got drinks first, then one more, then another. My son got his sprite last. Probably 30 minutes before we all had our drinks. Margaritas not listed on menu so I ordered a skinny with a silver(blanco) tequila. Mine cost 26 bucks, my girlfriend ordered same thing and was charged 15.50. Service was super slow (again, we came in at 5:30, restaurant not full.). Food was ok but definitely not worth the high prices. Manager came by and asked how everything was so I politely told him everything and that based on this experience none of us would be returning. He gave us a coupon for free desert next time we come. Didn’t adjust bill for drinks or anything. I usually go to Leucadia location and it’s good. This was just plain awful. And the women’s bathroom was atrocious. One clogged toilet, the other stall had no paper.

Just getting to know the Carlsbad location and we really like it so far. Food has been great. Service is friendly. Easy to get a reservation or walk in. We love music so enjoy coming here to listen to our favorite local musicians.

Everything was great but the musician listed to play never showed up but I'm sure thats not a fault of Papagaya and my Meatloaf dish did not have enough mashed potatoes and veges to last the meatloaf so that was a bummer. Otherwise all was great. Thanks!

The food and live music were great . Didn’t like the sports bar vibe though and lighting. Prefer the moody vibe and ambiance of the Leucadia location better.

If you ever want to fulfill your fantasy of dining and dashing this would be the place. I literally had to go inside and ask for my check and then wait for them to even take it. The food was cold and our waiter was nowhere to be found. We would put our order in and wait forever to get it. It took almost an hour for them to come take our order after our appetizers. Not to mention, they brought the wrong order. We were a table of 4 and we didn’t eat anything because the food was not good. The only thing that was was the jumbo shrimp and Mac and cheese. Not worth the price at all.
