Le Colonial is a celebration of seductive spirit and vivid flavors reminiscent of Saigon in the 1920s. With locations in Chicago, Houston, Atlanta and Lake Forest, the famed Vietnamese restaurant is designed to capture a bygone era of romance and soft architecture. Heralded as "an escapist’s paradise," celebrated restaurateurs Rick Wahlstedt and Joe King deliver on exquisite attention to detail in a luxurious classic and idyllic atmosphere.

DRESS CODE:
We put all our love and effort in creating an unforgettable experience with you in mind. It is for this reason we politely ask that our guests return the favor by joining us sans any of the subsequent athleisure attire. No athletic wear or athletic attire, designer athletic lines of any kind and model, beach flip flops or any beach attire, athletic slides, tank tops (men), cut-offs, sweatpants, exposed undergarments and excessively revealing clothing for indoor and outdoor dining. No baseball caps. Seasonal changes may apply.

This would be my fourth or fifth experience at le colonial- it’s a favorite ! clearly it is almost season and there are many new servers and workers at this restaurant. We were seated at a table that was close to the wait stand, which had glasses and paraphernalia where the wait staff would serve from - it would be noisy . We ordered drinks and then we decided to ask for another table. We were led to a corner and it was all right, but the table was small and we felt we were against the wall so we asked if we could have the semi circular banquet that was free. We were told no that that table was only for six. We asked to speak to the manager, but the manager did not arrive. Neither did six people come to fill that banquet. Honestly, that was our only negative and could’ve been so easily solved. We enjoyed the whole organic red snapper $100 and had a side salad as well as a few drinks. It’s definitely a restaurant that we would come back to keeping in mind that the tables are small tight and that you don’t always get your first choice or second choice.

Another perfect evening with 4 newbies that absolutely loved the restaurant Will be back on the 22 of November making this our 12th time to this location.

A unique and classy place to dine. We love the attention to detail and the obvious care put into each dish. When we can’t get a table, we enjoy dining in the bar area. The atmosphere is warm and relaxing.

Everything was perfect! Outstanding, flavorful food presented beautifully. Impeccable service and elegant surroundings. Our favorite Delray restaurant.

As always, food, waitstaff, and ambience were spectacular! We had 2 appetizers and 3 entrees all of which were delicious. We also had drinks at the bar which had 2 great bartenders. The wine I ordered was not at the bar and the bartender knew an order had come in that morning and got me the wine I wanted. This is our go to place for fine dining and a great night out. We will be back!

I can’t comment on the food, only that the service was extremely poor so we never got to try it. We sat there for 30 minutes with our bottle of water we ordered and nobody came to take our order. There was a full staff and a lot of people standing around doing nothing. We finally left 20 dollars on the table and went across the street to the Hampton Social instead where we were sat and ate immediately. I should also add in the 30 minutes I was there the printer broke so no tables could receive their checks, and the server lit the man next to our table’s sleeve partially on fire while trying to make his drink. I’m going to go with it’s probably best we didn’t get to try the food because the service was so poor I can’t imagine what the food is like.
